Epic rasp

Just did primary and secondary cat delete, holy rasp batman... I have the stock NPP in the back still

Any way to tame it a bit without restricting too much flow? I have my secondaries... but I would assume that would defeat the purpose of the cat delete in the first place. I got it done for the blower that's going in soon.

Thoughts?

Maybe wait until the blower is on before you modify the exhaust again you might like it with the blower. I personally like some rasp but if its to much then you could always put in a resonator mid stream or different cat back. Those secondary cats serve as a sort of emissions catch all/ resonator and are restrictive. Just adding a chamber (aka resonator) to settle down the rasp should be fine.

I'm thinking about that, it's a procharger going in, I'm guessing the flow will edit the sound of the car. You mean a generic magnaflow (or like-brand) resonator, correct?

I think my biggest bone to pick with it is how much it makes the valves rattle. But i guess there is no avoiding that now with the added flow.

Yes, the brand and type is up to you, magnaflow is fine. The valve rattle is a different animal. There was a GM service note about that to fix it. You basically just put super glue where the pin is on the flap to stop it from rattling. Its easy to do and takes like 20 mins. Here you go. http://www.camaro6.com/forums/attach...2&d=1466137246

Nice. Can you post a video/sound clip of your car. I've had the secondary cats deleted and have added SW npp axleback. Love the sound but thinking off deleting the primary cats as well for more sounds

Deleting primary cats will throw a cel without a tune. Tune= bye bye warranty. Some people don't care but if your not going full bolt on or supercharged deleting primary cats just for sound while voiding your warranty is not worth it. IMHO

With long tubes and cat delete it is bad but not epic bad and only in high gear at low RPM.

Latest video is right after install.

I might get together with my exhaust guy and weld up something custom. The stupid connector pipe from the cat delete may also have a tiny leak. The clamp they use is packed with graphite. Annoying as hell to get off.

haha, yeee. I'll update after I toss in some small resonators, maybe find a way to put stronger valves in NPP or just stop being a cheapo and take the hit on an NPP capable exhaust with proper muffling powers.

Just a thought... What would control rasp better... Putting the secondaries back on or putting a resonator in their place?

OP, in NPP you can put the full time into stealth mode, that will help. NPP with LTs and cats here. I run in stealth except at the track.

But if it were me I would put the cats back on. They flow pretty well so there is very little gain removing them.

Thanks for the advice! I am going to test putting the secondaries on for now, see if I can find a happy medium . I yanked the cats off in prep for my blower. Didn't want to commit to long tubes on a daily because; CALIFORNIAAAAAA (ugh)
