Asked dealer about allotments on ZL1, didn't sound quite right.

When I asked if they had any allotments, they responded they have requested one for a ZL1 but have no idea when they will receive it. He then said they receive news of allotments every Tuesday and would also need to place the order to GM the same day.
This didn't sound right but figured I'd ask you professionals before I go talk to the general manager and try to get the scoop.
Planning on a 6spd convertible, seems as though they are currently making them so hoping I can snag one.

All dealers know if they are getting ZL1 allocations by now.... If the general manager doesn't know, I would say they are not.... find out who orders the cars at that dealer and that person should know..... a dealer acquiring an allocation at this point is highly unlikely for model year '17.....

It's a little bit of both. Some other dealer may turn one down and by a massive stroke of luck, massaging the area rep, etc, he could get one. I think he's just trying to be vague, because the future doesn't look too bright for him getting one.

Tuesday is when unclaimed allocations are distributed to those dealers willing to take them. Glen e is right for a hot model but when the unused allocation is available for a non hot model some dealers take the allocation knowing (or hoping?) there will be a reward for their effort.
