It looks every bit the part of a race car, that's for sure!

Reminds me of the "beautiful in a busy way" look of the Viper ACR.

Not to bash the Youtuber in the original video, but Kyle tends to spend a lot more time on his videos and is generally a lot more thorough, which is probably why he has 1 million+ subs. Unless somebody else posts his video here first, I will once it's in my feed.

Yeah, it's pretty cool but I wonder if there will be new/exclusive colors for the ZL1 1LE - I for one hope there will be some new/exclusive colors...

I'm with you I just got rid of a car that draws tons of attention. The tires and wheels are the single best improvement. Most will be able to turn the same lap times with these mods. No need for a race car wing on my way to the office. I really like the flat black, This was something I was already planning on doing. The black is a little too shinny.

Both cars had auto trans, because they ordered the 350 engine and at that time, you got an auto with the 350, mandatory. If you wanted a stick shift, you got the 305 engine.
That's mostly because they didn't have manuals that could handle the torque at that time. When I ordered my 85 TransAm, I ordered the TPI 305 engine (first year for TPI, largest engine in 85) and all I could get was the auto, manual not available. Once they started going to tremec for transmissions, no worries then.

I think this will be limited production, just enough to homologate it into some class or another, perhaps 500 units. It will cannibalize regular ZL1 sales as there are only so many people willing to spend so much on a Camaro. As for the Z28, I don't think we will see one in 2018.

Dealers with large ADM's on ZL1's are crooks. Classic Chevy, Sugarland, TX, has 3 of them, M6 for a bit less than MSRP, just sitting. It is possible for manufacturers to force dealers to not charge ADM. It has to be in the contract with the manufacturer, and such a clause was upheld in court.

It can't cannibalize sales....it IS a ZL1.

So basically, they've just created a way to get 500 people already buying a ZL1 (if we stick with your number) to spend MORE money on the purchase.

With Franchise and state laws they can't curb ADMs...I am sure there are ways they can discourage them and tell the dealer, hey you keep screwing the customer than we can make it hard for you in other ways...but honestly MSRP, the 2nd letter in the acronym stands "Suggested", so really a dealer can charge what they want without really any reprecussions.

Does anybody else think this is terribly ugly?

Since the zl1 walks all over the GT350r, was this even necessary?

No.

Yes. Ford has been humiliated in the 6th gen and this car sets the bar even higher for Ford's next move. Payback (for now) for the last GT500 on the heals of the gen5 ZL1

I am in agreement with may others here. The aero stuff gives the car a look that is going to have a narrow band of appeal. Its certainly not for me. Looks like a high school seniors dream car.

I have decided to Hate it.
Taking a fully loaded pig of a car and throwing on some areo and tires then presenting it as a Halo camaro. The best Camaro has to offer.

Exact same car with a 427 and 200lbs of garbage taken out would have been the crowning moment for Camaro.

Bet Al O. felt silly presenting this jalopy to the media and he knows the flak he will get from fans all summer long at every event
