I agree that GM should have done a better job with the design on this window fogging issue. It's definitely more pronounced than I've experienced with any other car I've owned (and that goes back almost 40 years!).

BUT...(maybe I'm "old school")...all the whining and nashing of teeth about it is truly amusing...here's what I did:

I found a thin hand towel, about the same shade of dark gray as the dashboard, rolled it up, tucked it tightly between the vents and the windshield to redirect the air and...no more fogging!

Simple as that. The dark gray towel doesn't cause any reflection issues, so it's not distracting at all while driving. And the window defroster still works fine if I ever do need it.

Try it...you'll like it!
Haha, glad I'm not the only one that would rather do something about it than wait for GM to do nothing and get in an accident because my windshield is covered up.

I've had this on since October, granted conditions haven't been favorable but I anticipate it'll be back soon. But, I have yet to have my window fog up since I started using this.

Something could be made up fairly easily to reflect the air I'm surprised the aftermarket hasn't made a small item that looks like stock and helps redirect the air. I'm also going to Make something and paint to the colour of the dash and somehow make it look discreet.

There are numerous topics on this and even some ways to redirect it already time to take a trip to the hardware store show GM how you make a defrost vent? Lol they can make a great performance car but they know jack about a defrost vent

That looks pretty clean! What material did you use? How is it attached?

Rubber flooring baseboard found at Lowe's or Home Depot. It was like $2 and was big enough to make two. The lip in the baseboard tucks in between the dashboard and windshield really nicely, holding it in place.

We'll see what the summer brings but I didn't have a problem with this in late fall in 80 degree weather.

I've owned my car since April and I have had no fog issues whatsoever...I even spent a few weeks with it in Vancouver, B.C. and Seattle/Portland with no issues.

The only things I can think of are that:
1. I have Air80 on the front windshield.
2. I leave the A/C in "auto" almost all the time other than at the track or autocross.
3. I do use the remote start a bit in the Summer but not every time.

The fogging issue primarily affects those in hot, high dew point environments like the Gulf Coast. Not surprised you haven't had it in the Pacific Northwest

If you need to properly use the defrost vents, you just remove whatever is blocking the vent.

As long as recirculate air is on I don't have the fogging issue.

It's only come up twice for me since I put the towel in place... the first time, I just pulled the towel out before hitting the defrost button, without thinking about it (so, of course, the defrost worked perfectly that time). The second time, I wanted to see if the defrost worked without moving the towel. It did, but it took longer, since the air is not directed right at the windshield.

Replacing the towel takes very little time, so I will likely just pull it if I'm in a hurry. If the temperature conditions are not as extreme and I don't need an immediate fix, I'll just hit the defrost button and wait an extra 30 seconds or so.

Most days, I forget the towel is there, and there are zero fogging issues.

Hate to bring back the dead, but a towel, on a 45k car, to fix an issue....... Take one turn at just enough speed and you'll be picking the towel back up from the floor; over and over again. It's not a fix. It's a bandaid.

My assumption is that since the center vents are so low on the dash that GM designed the AC to always have air coming through the defroster vents to keep the top of the cabin more comfortable temp wise.

A "fix" from GM may just result in the top of your head being really hot and your right hand being really cold.
