Wow. Was not expecting that at all. I am amazed. Go Chevy!

I was just looking at ZL1 pics this morning and was thinking to myself why Chevy didn't give it red brake calipers...now I know why!

Am I the only one that's super excited about the black 3rd brake light? Cuz...I'm getting that as soon as ThatGMPartsGuy has em.

Navigation is an option and not standard on the ZL1.

I would image ventilated seats would be a plus for the track.

The dampers save 60 lbs and the 19" wheels probably save a far bit of rotational mass as well.

Very nice no doubt.

But for my purposes (Street and maybe a few passes at the strip) I'd rather have the regular ZL1. Not a huge fan of those "fins" on the front. Big big fan of those wheels and the sizes O_O if we can fit a 19x12 under the "base" (lol) ZL1, I'm definitely going to do that. Anybody know if there's any difference in wheel/tire clearance? Shouldn't be.

I simply do not understand where all the car enthusiasts have gone & the general disdain many show for another flavor...I don't check out other forums because I went with the ZL1, but I still think the 350R is a fantastic set of wheels, along with what the Hellcat, Demon, AMG, Beamers, etc. bring to the table. Competition is great & keeps these mfg's on their toes to up their game.

Mind boggling a Mustang enthusiast could not view this release as anything but good, even for their own side...the suits & designers at Ford will do nothing but try to one up it & I for one look forward to seeing what kind of rabbit will come out of their hat. Man, I love seeing new vehicles come out!!

Being jealous isn't necessarily a bad deal if you are hard core brand loyal & your comp gets ahead of the game, but there isn't any place for 'envy' with a true car enthusiast. It's a shame it is so rampant on all sides. SMH...

Anyway, back on track. Do we have any idea when an MSRP will be released??

If you have read some of the reviews of the 10 speed it doesn't make a very good transmission for the road course, simply too many gears. I've driven my manual trans cars on the track, even with 6 gears its sometimes too much, depending on the track configuration. I think with the 10 speed there would be too much shifting (up and down) that could upset the car going into a corner or coming out of a corner. A manual makes much more sense for a road course. For a drag strip or a very large track (like the full course at Brainerd or the Nurburgring), can't beat an automatic, but for most road courses the 6 speed is great, especially with the rev matching (I never was very good at heal and toe in a car, on a sport bike I'm much better, much easier on a bike)

Agree 100%. The big 3 are frikken killing it right now. All brands have killer rides they are spitting out and there is no reason to hate on any of them IMO.

It's a damned good time to be a car guy.

Hey folks, I'm wondering if this could be the replacement for the Z28? It has many of the Gen 5 Z28 features makes me think that the new Z28 might not be built.

The auto ZL1 set the time on the ring. Autos are now better for a road course. Randy Post was virtually even with both trannies.

You can be a car enthusiast and still not like other brands. I am a beer enthusiast, but I don't like every beer.

True, but what's the motivation.

Might need a link for that one as I haven't seen a single review say that yet. The A10 has set all the times and the GM drivers tout the A10 on the road track.

It's certainly going to be a closer race on a road track than the drag strip, but the times are what they are.
