I'm no paint expert, but I cannot see why they would need to blend. Now if this was an older car, then yes. I would check around with at least 1 other body shops or even your dealership. I recently had my front clip repainted and no blending was required/needed. |

My friend has a hyper blue and had to have his 1/4 panel repainted and the paint matches perfectly.
As far as blending goes, it will not need to be done at all. The bumpers are painted in a different process than the body of the car to begin with so there will always be some slight variation from certain angles. A good body shop will be able to handle this for you no problem. |

they can't just fix and paint a spot in the middle of a panel... it will always be visible no matter how good the match is. |

As others have said, as long as you go to a good shop, it will look brand new.
This happened to mine when an idiot tried to go around me at the same time I was going around a stopped van. Long story. Anyway. Body shop replaced the fender and repaired the scratches. Then painted the new fender, door, hood and facia/bumper to blend it all together. Can't tell it ever happened. Looks perfect. Also replaced the wheel. Not sure if all the blending was necessary but the body shop is on my insurance carriers top ten list (or whatever it is called) and they approved everything. They are also going to cover having the OptiCoat Pro+ reapplied in the spring.

On previous cars I've had the front clip repainted without having the fenders or hood blended, but this was when they were still quite new. I went through a few different hoods on my 4th gen and from what I remember blending was needed. I guess it just varies, I dunno. |

I had my driver's rear quarter panel painted after it was damaged. Honestly I can't tell anything. My spoiler is a different story. It's a darker shade of blue than the rest. I do have a little experience painting cars and will say it is hard to match colors, especially one with a lot of metal flake in it like the hyper blue.
