Did you go Carbon Fiber Insert or Painted?

I'm curious what the majority of folks are going with for their hood, fiber or painted. Along with your vote, let us know what color your car is

I like the black myself as I have never had good luck with CF when exposed the the elements. Plus the fact that I could not get it inside made it an easy decision and the price.

HBM. I wanted the stripe to tie in with the front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser.

With all the mosaic black on the front, sides and rear, I went with the mosaic hood insert due to the lack of the cf dash insert.

With my choice of Hyper Blue, I needed both or neither.

black with cf hood, wanted it on my '13, but wasn't available at the time. This time it was the dashboard... maybe later I'll just replace or 'dip it to match the hood lol.

Exposed CF for me!!! I fell in love with it when I had the 2012. Couldn't even consider painted this time around.

Hyper Blue.

had to go with the carbon fiber on the garnet red. I'm also considering painting the rear spoiler black to match the side skirts

The black goes much better on the white car. Exposed looks great on Gray and darker colors though.

Hyper blue with stripe. Gf didn't like the CF plus I like the metallic stripe look.

Food for thought...

On the 5th gen's, the exposed was a $600 option, but if you needed to replace it with a genuine Chevy exposed insert, the dealer price is roughly $4,000.00. Ask me how I know.

I have a triple black 2013, and a couple years after I bought it, it developed a blemish of some unknown source near the middle of the insert. Whatever caused it, seems to have penetrated down to the weave itself, and has left a depression in the insert that can't be repaired.
The point is, if I wanted to 'fix' the insert, I'd have to replace the entire insert if I wanted to keep it as exposed.
My options are, to spend the big bucks for a genuine GM exposed insert, or have a body shop fill in the depression (about the size of a nickel), then have it painted.

yes I know there are aftermarket exposed inserts, but I worry about the quality.
So far I'm just living with the blemish.
