The $16,000.00 Question

I have a A10 on order fully loaded, but I found the same car less a few options (Moonroof and Carbon Insert and is a manual) for 55K. My order is 71k right now and my car is set to be built in 7 days. I am not totally opposed to a manual, but I have not had to live with driving one since 2003. My wife cannot drive a manual. She tells me to get whatever I want, but be sure it's what I want and don't factor in cost. Still, 16k is a huge discount. What would you do? It is sitting right now calling me with no waiting.

Get it if you don't have your heart set on the A10. If it wasn't for my knee I would have a manual right now. But for me also, I think the A10 will be ground breaking.

Couldn't agree more. The A10 has me intrigued. I have test driven the manual and found it thrilling, but I wasn't seriously considering it until the serious price drop.

Sunroof kills the roof lines and exposed CF can be made up with a stripe.

Very tough decision for sure.

I also saw a post on here where a company bwas selling the exposed carbon hood insert. Was that a factory OEM piece? If so it makes it more interesting.

Agreed, if it wasn't for my knee I would be driving a manual as well.

For me I could live without the sun roof and have a little extra head space, a manual isn't a bad option either.

Manual transmissions are on their way out, so if it's going to be a low miles car I say get it for resale value in 80 years

If it was me? I'd take the 16k savings, get the manual, ditch the sunroof (how often would you use it?) and put a few bucks into some mods later down the line.
Lower upfront cost or financing charges. Win-win

Wait for the A10...

If you want a manual there are other deals that you can have right now with exposed carbon and no moonroof.

The A10 is a masterpiece. But if you want the M6 then just find the perfect M6.

You should approach your dealer with the order and see if they can sharpen their pencil at all. I don't think this car looks great with the moonroof and headroom is precious with the interior space smaller. I think the manual will be more than adequate and more engaging to drive unless you are doing the high speed hero runs on a track or drag strip. Serious racing and I'd go with A10. That's a big price drop on the manual.

No brainer, get a car your wife can also drive. It will make her more suportive of any other decisions you make in your life. The A10 will be more easily sold in the future should you decide to buy something else. Go for the A10 and have no regrets.

Manuals are so much fun, but the A10 is the main option I would not give upon this car...even for $16k.

Man, that sounds down right loco!! Did I just type that??
