Aftermarket changes are nearly infinite in nature and their addition to the vehicle does not create a "rare" item. Terms like this are usually more associated with a cheap sales pitch than reality.

I don't see the point in buying one of these right now. Discounts will hit $10k by the end of summer, if not sooner, and used ones will easily be sub-$50k by next summer.
Good luck finding a 2017 still on a lot by next summer. This isn't an upgraded SS like the 5th gen, it's a whole different animal.

The same things were said about the Z28s. Their discounts were eventually in the 20-25 grand range. These are absolutely fantastic products, no question about it but they are really pricey and just not many of us willing and able to actually take delivery of one. The first ZL1 in my area had an asking price $4500 below MSRP and it still sat for 6 weeks with no others available within 200 miles. Reality when it comes to this kind of stuff can be profoundly different than what some enthusiasts "figure".

The Z28s aren't exactly the same thing. Not many people willing to fork out 75k for a stripped down track car when for cheaper you could get more power and fully loaded ZL1. Just saying, let's come back to this post next summer and see who was right.

Not the same thing? OK, but how much closer can you get? You have totally missed the point. I've been involved directly and indirectly with the retail car business since I was 16 and have seen this scenario with performance cars unfold more times than I could ever remember. There WILL be attractively priced, left over, 2017, ZL1s when the '18s hit the ground. You can bet the farm, your dog, and your ass on that one.

lol you're missing your own point. Nobody is talking about when the 18's first hit. Of course here will be some leftover scraps around. You said "next summer" which is 15-16 months from now.

Learn how to read Pal. At no point in any of my posts did I state "next summer". Obviously the '17s that we are referring to will be late summer/fall '17, geeeesssh!

Exactly what would constitute a "leftover scrap"? I can't conceive of any configuration of this car that would be considered "scrap".

I'm in no way your "pal". The post you decided to stick your big nose into was the one I quoted BigGuy81 or whatever the name is where he stated "next summer", which is an awfully long time from now.

By scrap I mean you're left with what is leftover and if someone wants a 17 they'll be stuck with what's available which may not be what they specifically wanted.

Our "next" summer season will be that which occurs in 2017 as we are currently in the winter of that year. Is this difficult?

This can be said for almost any performance car.

Oh you're one of "Those". Lol. That's where the mixup is. 2017's summer would be considered THIS summer and 2018's next. Like this weekend and next weekend.... so yea, still gonna be some leftover in 6-7 months for then the markdowns kick in

I think Blown67 is referring to the post.

"I don't see the point in buying one of these right now. Discounts will hit $10k by the end of summer, if not sooner, and used ones will easily be sub-$50k by next summer."

And as you can tell IT IS referenced as 2 different summers. This summer is before next summer. I think your getting confused with THIS COMING SUMMER or THE NEXT SUMMER which means the most recent.
