Non-Bose to Bose speakers
I've been able to install 6 out of the 9 speakers into my camaro, but I need info on how to install the rear deck speakers. I have checked in my rear deck and there are no wires/connectors there, so how should I go about installing them? I have only basic knowledge on car audio.. I heard if you want to install more speakers you need an amp because the power in the other speakers will be diminished as well.. my camaro doesn't have the non bose amp so I would have to install a whole new amp, never done that before so please, all the info you tell me is greatly appreciated, thanks!!

What is your goal here? Adding speakers won't solve much of a problem if they are not powered by an amp. Are you asking for advice on a full amped setup?

Take it to the professionals. Yes, it will cost money but dont risk screwing your car up. There are no plug and play options. I have the same set up. Its a nightmare to get the remote/acc power and audio inputs to the truck. Let the pro's earn their money!

Are you trying to upgrade to Bose? That may not be possible even if you could find a used Bose amp and a dealer willing to help you. I can almost guarantee that would require software configuration changes which may not be allowed because your car started as non-Bose. There are already several good threads on potential aftermarket upgrade routes for both Bose and non-Bose systems. |

FWIW, I would recommend anything but Blose, and I have the 2SS. If you aren't stuck with it, you can find many aftermarket amps and speakers for less $ and better quality. The proprietary nature of the circuitry of the Bose makes it very difficult to work with, and I echo the sentiment "no highs, muddy mids and lows, it must be Bose".
