If you are installing a glowtie, pull the entire front cap.
If you are installing a blacked out bow tie - I did this: |

Get some trim tools and a hefty pry from the left. It comes off.

I just did this myself, tape a screw driver and get to prying. I snapped the clips off the old one but that's OK, new one went in just fine.

I looked at the new bow tie to see where the mounting clips were. I couldnt get mine to pop off like others have recommended, so I drilled through the gold bow tie right where the clips are (looking at the new bow tie). This broke the clips and allowed the gold one to fall off. Dont drill deep or you will hit the mount in the grill (you can tell the depth using the new bow tie).

I wouldn't suggest taking a drill to your car, it really isn't necessary. Spray some WD40 in between the grill and bowtie. Then use a pry tool and pull from the left side. Once you get it started just keep pulling. The tabs will eventually let go.

or, you could just wrap the bowtie black.

You can also have the dealer install then on your next service visit.

Just got thru completing the install. How snug is your alls bow tie on the front. Does it have any play or slight wiggle. In other words does it move at all or does it behave like it's taped down???

It should not move at all, pull it off, get some VHB tape from the auto parts store and stick it back on.
