Yep.....the reason for that crash starts with "R" and ends with "S". It makes it no less sad, but that is a fact! I would also like to add that there are circumstances that happen that no skill set will bring you back from. Not saying that I am not guilty of overestimating mine as many of us have, but at some point, things can go so south that nothing is bringing it to a happy ending. Again, everyone have fun but please be careful.

This will be a sad closed casket funeral.

He could've killed innocent people ... thankfully he didn't. Then the family wants to go and put out a go fund me page, for what? He owns a ZL1, I'm sure he had life insurance. Some of these Go Fund Me pages are ridiculous... He lost his life breaking the law and putting innocent lives at risk...

I'll receive heat for this comment, but I really don't care. I'm not here to intentionally bash a lost life, but if you lost family to someone illegally street racing or speeding like this guy, your attitude would be totally different.

No heat but you guys forget that there was an innocent person in this and it was his 17 year old daughter. So you guys should feel some sympathy

Pretty much...just like flying planes...there's some things you just can't pull it back from.

I feel for the mother burying her child and the crushing guilt her husband might have been the one who killed her.

Ron, you know I love you brother. You're welcome here anytime, but you know what I do for a living and some of the things I've seen. Tragedy is saved for the innocent. Consequences are for those that made a choice.

Very Sad. I remember all the crazy dumb things I did with my first camaro at 17. Can't imaging street racing with my daughter in the car at 54. RIP

Damn that's a sad story, RIP to both. This is a good reminder not to screw around on the streets, you never know when you might get an innocent party involved in your(our) stupidity.

Whether street racing or not, dad put his daughter's life at risk, by driving too fast for his skill level or allowing his daughter to drive beyond her skill level.

Either way, no "Dad of the year" award for him.

Wow. You guys are real winners! So you are saying you have never sped. Does not matter by how bad. Speeding, is speeding. If you want to be inconsiderate do it in private. No sense is bashing loss of life in open forums. Just think if one of the family members or loved ones sees your posts. I hope someone gives you the same respect when it is your time to go.Jerks

Even more reason to keep your mouth shut if you do not know what exactly is going on. You were not there so, zip it.

Also, Camaro is a uni body. Not that hard to tear one in half and at nowhere near the speed mentioned. All it takes is a straight side hit from an In-movable object and it will easily almost wrap completely around it.

And the dad of the year award? Real mature. Bet your mom is real proud
