This is what happened to my car 3 DAYS after the line "fix," as well as the differential fix.

Good lord....

Interesting, mine only took about 2.5 hours. It's concerning because the Chevy app, over 1 month later, still says the recall has not been performed. I called Chevy, spoke with someone on the other side of the world, and they said they have no record of the recall being performed.

If owning this car has taught me one thing, it's that Chevy dealerships do not have qualified techs.

That sucks. Good luck getting it fixed. My experience is if they have to actually replace the lines they tend to create a problem you didn't have. Mine is at the dealer right now. While they try to find an engine rattle caused by this procedure.

Where did you take yours, Randy Marion? Curious to know what they did for the rear diff, just the fluid flush/change? When I had the transmission oil cooler lines replaced, I asked about the rear issue and they were clueless, that was at the end of December.

They replaced the differential fluid. They also replaced the HMI module and reprogrammed to fix the radio. So far everything seems ok. They said they had another car in for radio and differential fix, same time as mine.

Mine had a orange sleeve. It had plenty of clearance in both places, so I cut the bolt and I am leaving the line in.

Apparently, it's the dealer that makes all the difference in getting the cooler line recall done.

I called my service advisor about this late December, and he said he knew the parts were in short supply, and he would call me when they were in stock.

Three weeks ago he called and asked when I could bring it in, and I made an appointment for the next day.

I dropped it off, took the courtesy shuttle home, worked for two hours and got a call that it was ready.

Went to pick it up, and it had been washed.

The car drove just like before with no issues; totally satisfied with the service.

Oh yeah - the recall notice was removed from my notifications within a week.....

Had mine checked Friday and they said they needed to order the parts because it was rubbing. Told me it will take them 7 hours to replace it WTF? Must have some really skilled folks back there.

I got the notice in the mail about this recall. I then emailed back a service rep that had contacted me that my car was due for an oil change. Well, I do my own oil changes but told her that she could make an appointment for the recall. She replied that I had to make an appointment to bring it in to get inspected first, and then they'll order the parts for the recall. I replied back that I wasn't going to waste my time bringing my car in to get inspected since I just received notification that my car was part of the recall. I told her to order the parts and I'll schedule a visit when they come in. She replied again that they had to inspect the vehicle first to determine if it needs parts. GM apparently won't pay for the parts unless the vehicle is inspected first. Well, I don't really care who pays for the parts, just get them there before I bring my car in to fix a factory defect. I finally told her I'd have my salesman contact the service manager and get it straightened out (which I haven't done yet).

Essentially, they want to inconvenience me TWICE for their screw up. NOPE!!! Not doing it.

I guess they inspect for rubbing and the part number to determine if it needs to be replaced, but I agree why not stock all parts at the dealerships instead of making it inconvenient for the customer

I took mine in for inspection first and they told me they needed to order he part. It took 10 minutes. 3 days later the part was in. Dropped it off Monday night and picking it up this morning (Wednesday) because it was finished late yesterday. No biggie. They're not just going to replace it if the part isn't the part that needs to be recalled. They gave me a loaner pickup while it was in there so I was happy to drop it off for a few days since I needed the pickup for something anyway.

I'll be under my car installing headers and full exhaust this weekend so, I'll inspect it myself. If I see any rubbing of the line, I'll take pictures and maybe that will suffice. It's just dumb to make me go 40 minutes out of my way just so they can look and see if it needs the line replaced. I'll update when I have more info.
