Erase check engine light?

For some reason my obd2 scanner won't let me delete my codes. I know the codes are good and everything fine, I just want to get ride of the light on my dash. Can someone tell me how to do it or how you did it? Thanks!

Most dealers will not simply clear a CEL. They would be liable if they did. So what they will do is tell you they need to diagnose it and then, if there is no issue, they will clear it.

Exactly, the OP's car is still under warranty, they need to make sure there is no problems.

Gotcha. I guess my initial thought was that one of the only ways you would "know" that there was nothing wrong and the CEL was erroneous was if you had modded something you knew would cause those CELs.

You are absolutely correct in that assuming nothing;s been done to the car, I would take it right into the dealer.

If everything is fine, then the MIL will go out on it's own. When, depends on the code. Certain codes require a certain amount of drive cycles with no faults found, once this is achieved the light goes out.

You can get an ODB II port reader with blue tooth and the Torque app to read and clear the codes. Don't know if the app is for iPhones, I have Android. Lots of other nice info with that app.
