Has Anyone Installed A Strut Tower Brace And Is It Worth It...
I will admit, I am just looking to buy any stupid accessory for my new 17 Fifty.
Has anyone bought a strut tower brace for this car and if so, was there a noticeable difference in performance. If so did you buy a OEM part or aftermarket |

I have. I ordered Oem from gm parts guy. To be honest, the car handled so good without it, I never reached the limit on the road- so no benefit noticed except it looks cool, and if I ever find the limit- hopefully mine is a little more than without!

the strut towers come braced. They're braced to the firewall. They do sell an additional brace that goes over the engine rather than behind it but it's gonna be hard to tell if it actually makes a difference on the road to make the car slightly more rigid when it's already pretty rigid.
Probably wont negatively impact anything though. |

A great accessory is the rock guards, or a nice set of floor mats. I used oem guards, and 3D maxspider mats. The Ats strike plate covers are also a nice $10 fix if you need some basic retail therapy.

Would you happen to have a link to the ATS strike plate cover? I think I know what you are referring to, just not totally sure

I also ordered mine through thatgmpartsguy.com can't say it's made a drastic difference in handling but it looks sweet in the engine bay.

The ATS platform is so rigid that a strut tower brace is not needed except if you track extensively.

I am waiting for mine from BMR. Once it arrives and is installed I'm going to see if I can notice a difference after 200~ miles. From my understanding, it shouldn't be noticeable unless you're pushing the car pretty hard.
If you are looking to spend some money on accessories for the car. Have you looked into a CAI? |
