Tires Wider than Stock on the SS
Greetings.
I know that the SS 1LE is an SS plus all the additional performance bits including Wider Tires...however not sure if it makes sense to upgrade the tires on normal SS to the 1LE size tires/wheels without upgrading the suspension, at least based this article below....in short, it states that the manufacturer fit these cars with the right sized wheels/tires based on its suspension geometry and other things and its typically not recommended to go wider than stock, with that being said...does anybody think its necessary to upgrade the suspension on the SS to FE4 Suspension components in order to see the performance/traction/cornering improvements/gains? Thanks & appreciate your thoughts.... http://www.tuneruniversity.com/blog/...-size-matters/

Unless you are going to the track regularly, the SS has a great suspension for spirited driving and DD. It's a great car right off the lot. Yeah, I know some can't resist the urge to mod...

I've gone back and forth on this. I won't mod beyond wheels and maybe an intake for now. Do I really require 20x10 and 20x11 wheels? No. It would be cool to, but my driving doesn't need it.
