My 2000 Trans Am WS6 weighed 2980 with me in the driver's seat and 3/4 tank of gas.

(Of course, it was a stripped GT2 road racer, with no interior, no seam sealer, no front/rear/side crash bars, etc. Did have a pimpin' roll cage, though!)

Now if they went to carbon fiber body panels, that would have. Instead they added Bushwacker fender flares.
^ I agree....

While the Demon will most likely be a 1/4 mile beast, I for one think they are going a step too far.... or at least going about it in the wrong way. If you want to loose weight then do it through technology, not removal of basic items. This, amongst other reasons (price), was one of the downfalls of the last z/28 in my opinion.

How many of them were ordered with the stereo/AC option by dealers? I know that just about every "new" 2015 z/28 that I have seen still on dealers lots around here does not have that option. And I flat out believe that is one of the reasons they are still on the lot, even after being marked down to around 50k. I know that I personally will NOT buy a car without AC since I live in Texas. I don't care how bad a$$ it is. Evidently others do not want them either.

So this brings me to the Demon... if it doesn't even have a front passenger seat, then what else will be lacking? Now will they sell? Sure, it will be an instant collectable, but I can tell you that I like many others will not want it if I do not even have a passenger seat much less an AC in it. I for one would not have a snowballs chance in hell of justifying THAT to my wife! Just give me a ZL1 or a Z06 and I will be perfectly happy...

With that being said there will be a few (maybe more than a few) people out there who will buy one, pickle it, park it in a garage, and in 40-50 years from now make an absolute killing off of the thing at the future Barrett-Jackson or whatever it will be by then.

The 1LE is simply a bargain, and is really pretty light in weight for this day and age.

Personally I wish GM offered a factory rear seat delete as an option with trim that flowed into it. I never will really need them as even my daughter will be able to sit in the front soon as the airbag has a weight sensor, and the aftermarket rear seat delete kits look cheap...
28 lbs for rear seats backs... 4 lbs for actual seat bottoms... mine will be gone immediately...

2LT weight

I finally got my scales back late yesterday so when I got home from work today I put it up in them. Not as light as a 2T but it is right about where I thought it would be.
Pay no attention to the corner weights because I didn't bother to do a proper leveling. I mainly wanted the total weight today. This weekend I plan on doing it on a level platform where it can be rolled on and off to get a more accurate figure.
I was kind of surprised to see those front/rear numbers though, not that I think they're accurate.

On a side note -

The fuel tank pulls from the driver side first when the tank is full and then pulls from the passenger side last.

Think about the rear numbers for a minute!

So as the car gets less and less fuel, the driver side gets lighter and lighter.

You just need a nice 80lb petite female to drive for you. You can sit back and be the team owner.

Was that 3435 a V6 or a 2.0T? Auto or manual?

Does anyone have the weight of a 1LS/1LE V6?
