sorry to see this happened to you.. i kinda sorta am also picky.. but i love the car to much to pass up just on few scratches.. i would have the dealer order brand new bumper and have it put on.. i agree i would want it painted either...

or go to anther dealer who has the same car in stock.. take your paperwork to them have them match the price... most if not all will match it .. happened to me when i was buying my 2015 WRX.. i went to a dealer.. told them not to drill the plate holes.. i show up to pick up the car saw it had the front plate drilled on .. dealer wasn't willing to paint or give me a new bumper.. they said i can get 10 free oil changes.. i told them no thanks.. told them i would think about it come back next weekend... took the agreement to another dealer who had the car in stock.. showed them the paper and they matched the price and gave me 10 free oil changes!! lol .. so just find another dealer ... if you have to..

some dealers will even pay for you to fly out there..

Sorry, but a resprayed bumper on a brand new car? I wouldn't accept it either. It will already have a diminished value before it leaves the lot.

No it won't. It won't even show up on any reports or car fax. This happens way more often than you people think.

I'm anal to the point that I wouldnt buy that car...sounds like you may be, too. In that case, I think you should pass on it and get something else. Pass on this one and use the F up to get a better price on a different one.

Hello,

Perhaps it may be helpful to consider that every part of a 'new' vehicle, was at one point living materials, or just dust, rocks, minerals, and stuff from under the ground. Humans changed it; we processed it and sewed it together (thinking leather here) or dug it up, beat, machined, and manufactured it into various shapes. Then other humans painted those surfaces to make them pretty. Other people can do the same kinds of things when it comes to fixing issues. Whether parts were repaired after the assembly line because of a worker's mistake, repaired at the factory from issues during assembly, or repaired at a dealership before one picks it up, what difference does it make?

When I was learning about mechanics at American Honda's school in NJ, the teacher asked us technicians if we were to have bought a new bike, and the engine broke when you first took it home, would you rather have a new motor from the factory or have the shop fix it? My first thought was the former. Many of my classmates agreed. Then he asked us why? Engines are assembled at the factory by people, said he, but most of them only know how to do certain tasks. He explained that proper mechanics at dealerships are trained to do a lot more and typically have better technical skills than assembly line workers. After that, I was good with shop people doing what shop people do. I became a pretty good shop person myself. It could be argued that inexperienced shop people are not as good as seasoned veterans (likely true) but who is to say whether the person on the engine assembly line is a seasoned veteran? Talent is talented. My point is that getting things fixed correctly is more important than where they are fixed or by whom. So long as the job is done well, it doesn't matter who does it.

Kindest,

Donner

so sad to read that.
Maybe you come to Germany and buy a car here, then ship it yourself to Oman. Our dealer gets a lot of brand new cars in the next months...

Hey, 60 grand for a SS that is nuts! Just order a ZL1 and have them give you a discount problem solved.

Sorry to hear that! I feel your pain, having experienced the same thing. I suspect something better will come to you. It's funny how life works out that way.

Along with the fact that they're not simple scratches... You can see the bare surface of the bumper because the paint is gone.
