Tune voids warranty, this doesn't. It does reduce lag. It is more fun to drive with it. Hasn't caused errors or check engine light. These are my findings.

Trucks have been on the gen V global platform for a few years now.

As someone who is not a risk taker at all and did absurb amounts of due diligence prior to getting a tune on my engine and transmission, I can assure you that there are no actual reports of GM voiding a warranty because of a tune anywhere on the internet. Not sure if the vette guys have experienced this though.

The rumors make it sound like if you blow your motor or tranny and then revert back to stock they can still check the number of flashes in the ecu. It seems like in the real world you're not getting denied unless you have pretty substantional hardware modifications.

In the trucks a tune makes a huge difference, you would not believe how boring the factory throttle calibration and torque managment is. I personally think the factory tune on the SS isn't all that bad. I'd probably only tune it if I was making hardware modifications.

Basically I think in the real world, if you blow your motor or transmission because of what you did to it, and it really was your fault, you may get denied. But if your having common issues like an afm lifter failing or a torque converter issue in the 8 speed, you're likely not going to have any issues even if you are modifed. On top of that, it seems like the drivetrains are pretty stout and it's unlikely you're going to destroy anything from light modifications. I mean the stock pistons are really the only thing holding these motors back from being 1000hp+ shortblocks, and the pistons can support 700whp. 8 speeds are really tough as well.
