Have you considered trading in the car to the dealership and buying a new one? The car should be worth the same to the dealer as it would be without an engine issue (since it's under warranty).

It may sound crazy at the moment, but you have an opportunity to trade with a clear conscience. Once you get the car back it's very likely you'll have several new issues over the next few months. It's going to be easier to trade now than it will be later after new problems are documented.

Dealers will lead you to believe that the car will be as good as new. Experience tells me this is pretty much never the case.

Hopefully you're getting a brand new line replacement motor and not a "certified rebuilt" one.

Hmmm IDK about that working in my favor either... I know what you're saying though. I am remaining positive that there won't be further issues, but am not naive to the possibility...

I asked them about that and sounds as though it is a new engine, not a rebuilt one.

Turns out the short throw shifter kits aren't released yet. So, that won't be happening.

Just got off the phone with dealer, and they said they don't offer new engines as replacement. This will be a remanufactured engine with 3yr/100k warranty though.

Trade it in, buy a new camaro, and put the hassle behind you. You'll be glad you did.

So you end up with less than the warranty that was remaining on the original engine? That is a shitty deal.

That may still be an option

Yeah, I'll take that deal any day as well since you had small mods on there. If you were bone stock yes then it was a crappy deal lol

Sorry for a dumb question, but what is the original warranty on the engine than? I presumed it was 3/36k but haven't bought a new car in a long time.

5yr/60,000 miles powertrain warranty USA I think and 5yr/160,000 km Canada.
