I just ordered a new ZL1, and it's been a frustrating experience so far. See my thread here in the ZL1 section.

I understand some of the responses here, but I'm definitely feeling the OP's pain. It's frustrating, and in no way should I have to pay 70k for a damaged then repaired car. I mean honestly, how badly can you **** up "reverse car off of truck and drive it 50ft and park it"?

I'm still conflicted. Not really sure how to handle it.
yes my friend
the pain is more like PSYCHOLOGICAL , u expect to have a nice clean car, not damaged even with little scratch. i could easily shifted to another brand, but i love Camaro and money is not an issue

Plz God make it happen for me, tommorw i'll go check the car after painting, Moment of Truth

those are easy fixes (with compensation). you will never notice the different and will still have one hell of a car

black out those badges and enjoy

I've had minor damage on new cars and if the dealer corrected it properly I enjoyed the car.

Crossing my fingers for you man.
Yeah, it's simple. You're spending a lot of money for a new car, not a damaged car that's fixed back to "new". I can tell you from experience that Audi/BMW/etc don't handle things this way. Hell, even Subaru seems miles above Chevrolet in terms of service. In the last few years, Chevy has started making some amazing cars, but their service has a long way to go IMO.

Sorry....Audi/BMW handles it the EXACT same way, I was a factory rep for 25 years for them. NOBODY gets a new car for this type of damage. It gets fixed.

Sad thing is, most of the time you'd never even know it happened. There's a corvette at the dealership I bought my Camaro from that was damaged underneath like mine. Somebody's going to buy it and I'm certain won't be told a thing. They also had a fiftieth Camaro that lost all the ground effects on the drivers side coming off the truck. Someone bought that one too.

Well, then you would certainly know better than I.
In my experience however, it was a completely different experience. Maybe I just had a good dealer.

The higher-end lines give better service, because everybody gets paid more, the service advisor, the service manager and everybody, is one level up in cust handling.. However in THIS particular situation, the procedure is the same, and the offer is the same. They will fix the car.

Correct me if I am wrong, Glen. The dealer doesn't have to even disclose it on a car rolling off the truck as long as it is under 3% of the value. So a buy back is pretty unlikely for a scratch.

That's correct, the last point of manufacture is actually at the port, or in the case of a domestic, the plant. However most import cars have fix facilities in port there for things just like this. The percent of invoice I believe is determined by the state law. BMW was 3% of the invoice, anymore, it had to be disclosed, anything less, it did not have to be disclosed to be fixed. This is just for the mfr, In this case it was a dealer mistake, so the whole thing is on him. There are thousands of cars that are delivered to customers that never even knew that they got fixed.

Okay, then we're in total agreement. To be completely clear, I'm only talking about service. I didn't mean to insinuate that Audi would say "sure, whatever you want pal". Also, I'm pretty sure they handle their RS7s and RS5s (probably a better price comparison) a little better on the whole than dealerships seem to treat my ZL1 for instance.
All of my friends drive german cars, and none of them have been sold a scratched car, had a car arrived damaged, or anything like what me and Omen are going through.
