ps. This is a lot of money, but this or something like this will do a lot to protect your paint. Many swirls are introduced not during washing but rather during the drying process. I paid a lot less, but have had my Master Blaster with a black car for more than a half a decade.

Thanks for the nice compliment on the car.

After going back and forth about spending that amount of money, I finally convinced myself it was worth it and purchased a Master Blaster back in 2015. It has turned out to be one of the best detailing tools I've ever purchased.

Esoteric Detailing highly recommended applying Kamikaze Overcoat after every 3rd or 4th washing. Have you tried it? Shit was $50 for a 100 mL bottle.
I have used it. Works great but as you noted costs quite a bit. A little does go a long way, but I switched it up to Car Pro Ech20 with either Car Pro reload, or I just received a bottle of Gyeon Cure today. The magic mixture is this 2 OZ of Ech20, 2OZ of either Reload, or Gyeon cure mixed with 20 OZ if distilled water. This is to be used as a detail spray method. Spray on, gently wipe to cover with a quality microfiber, lightly buff with a quality microfiber.

As an alternative you can mix Car Pro reload 50/50 with distilled water, esp for black vehicles. This particular mixture works very well as a drying aid, and requires a spray per panel, or two for the hood, two for the roof. Use a sprayer with good misting for wide coverage. How you use the products depends on the washing method. If your going to traditional two or three bucket wash, and dry the car by wiping, the reload 50/50 is going to provide lubrication. If your blot drying, or blow drying you can use either the ech20 blend or the 50/50 when its dry.

Also only use clean washed, and properly stored top quality microfibers. New microfibers need to be washed as well before use, then stored in a sealed container. I store mine in large zip locks in a sealed container.

For waterless, or rinseless I have a couple of different methods, and preferred products that I use. If your taking that route I can provide my technique for you to check out. I three bucket my car.... well I can't remember maybe once in the last year. Almost every wash is rinseless.

Here is a thread with other input as well. I would be happy to send you a 20oz mixture if you want to try it.

What ever methods you decide on I would be glad to give you some input and options. If you join up with ZL1 Exclusive on Facebook there are some professional detailers that are there as well. To join up you need to have a ZL1 in your profile pic, or PM me or Owhite3003 in this thread here.

There is about 1300 active owners, and builders in the group, and a ton of cool people, a ton is information. I have met some of them and plan to travel up to Oregon with a few to hang out with Owhite3003. My other friend lives like ten minutes from Laguna Seca. It has also linked about 15 local to my area ZL1 owners that regularly make road trips, track days etc.

I forgot to add if your using the bucket method I use either of these shampoos.

Crystal seal which is a fantastic productt? Or crystal coat which works great, but has a short shelf life? When crystal coat has been opened, or is old it spreads like glue and is a bit of a nightmare. When it is fresh it works very well.

For the appliction Kamikaze is much easier. The easiest coating period is made by Polish Angel. Applies like a wax, removes like a wax with a huge amount of cure time.

For my Zl1 I used Kamikaze Miyabi with a coat of Infinity wax over the top.

So the Polish Angel is a ceramic coating? And do I use the Spritz after every wash? Or just during the initial application of polish angel?

Yes Polish Angel is a ceramic. Two versions, one is more carnuba in appearance, and the other is more the coated candy wrapper high gloss..
The spritz every few washes, but you could use Gyeon cure, Car Pro reload, Car pro Ech20 mixture as well with the same result.

Anothet reason I like the Ech20 and Geyon Bathe+, is they leave behind a little bit of coating and kind of leave it topped off after a wash.

Polish Angel makes some outstanding products, but some of them can be expensive.
However I have never had a bad product produced by them. For a diy coating its as fool proof as it can possibly be.
