Think they have been listening to the Italians too much. Removing things that already came in the car should not "cost" more.

Course this could be the same crap Autoblog pulled with the "no turbo 4 Camaro" too. Don't put much credit in anything they post without proof.

That's for sure...no NVH insulation, simplistic steering, smaller brakes...one seat.

Dodge does well integrating songs in their commercials.

A play on words with George Thorogood's "I drink alone" with "I drive alone" would be awesome

Are we talking Demon specific which we have scant data or a Challenger?

If you are talking Challenger, NVH is excellent, the steering and suspension is 12 years old but it is the BEST Benz design to date IMO, dunno about the brakes, my Challenger cop brakes at $250 were HUGE at 13.78 rotor size... is that big enough for 1/4 mile and street car... you know the post I'm replying to...

.well yes.

Seat, yeah the seats are heavy and I can see why tossing the passenger side and rear ones out make sense. Maybe replace passenger side with light weight Recaro or similar. Many track focused cars do just that.

My Type R has all the insulation removed, 10% thinner glass, specific sheet metal stamplings in the floor pan 10% thinner, lighter R seats... funny but now worth 5x to 10x more than a plain integra...

Congrats. That still doesn't make the Demon a viable street car.

It's just FCA doing what FCA does best. Generate headlines by producing extreme performance products with good marketing to conceal the fact that they can't build normal cars to save their lives and the balance sheets are becoming worse and worse.

Looks like everything you need to take it to the drag strip.

Folks just don't get it. This Demon is designed to absolutely rule the streets and strip. This is going to be a heavy option delete vehicle which will allow you to decide what is important to you. Think of this car along the same lines as a 69 COPO camaro, Tasca Mustang, or a Max Wedge Dodge. A car designed for the street or strip which is barely street legal. This will be the car that in 20-30 years from now we will all be wishing we had purchased when we could have.

This car is not chasing the new ZL1 they already have the Hellcat for that which is probably outselling the ZL1 even after its 3rd year in production.

No doubt it will be a collectors item, but more so b/c it will sell in small numbers (generally speaking). I mean this thing is guaranteed to not be as good a seller as the Hellcat because it is purpose built for the strip. Also it could very well be the swan call for big V8 Challenger...or even Dodge if they don't start adapting to the 21st century soon. Either one of those occurring could make this probably the most desirable collector car from this age of domestic V8s.
