I recently purchased a 2016 Camaro ss, I noticed it didn't have the android auto yet, but all it needed was the mylink update. However dealers have been making me jump through hoops to get it! Is there anyway I can just download the uodate and put it in myself?

That's just stupid from the dealer. I scheduled an appointment with my dealer for android auto and they installed it. Check with another dealer if they would do it for you.

Unfortunately I did I called every chevy dealer in a 30 mile radius I even called GM they said those dealerships should have it and it should be free. The guy even called a dealership for me and they were still clueless. I would take it to the dealer I got it from buts it's over 400 miles away.

My dealer knew how to do it luckily, they should know, it's there job. If they don't know tell them to find out how.

Last paragraph clearly states

"Android Auto† will be available, at launch, on the Chevrolet MyLink† system with 7-inch diagonal display and available through an exclusive Chevrolet Dealership software update on the Chevrolet MyLink† system with 8-inch diagonal display."

And no there is no way to do the update yourself. If they keep acting clueless, asking for a regional GM rep to contact.

Not sure where in VA you are, but if you are around Chantilly, go to Pohanka, they know what to do for the update and will not give you any grief about it.

Mine was an easy update from my dealer, and like mentioned above, no self updates for these updates.

Before you go through all this trouble - are you sure you don't have it already? It won't say android auto until you actually plug in your android phone via usb, then the Android Auto icon will display in place of the projection icon.

And if it is, in fact, not installed, you better contact GM if all dealers are giving you the run around.

But first... Talk to the service manager at the closest dealer. If he/she plays dumb say OK... Written complaint to GM and a "Yelp" 1 star for refusing to help me, or worse, not knowing how to service a Camaro. TRY it; you'll like it. Please report back to us.

You can check if you have android auto without plugging in your phone. It's in the settings menu. If it's installed it'll show up under Apple Car Play

Have heard good things about Pohanka. Might have to try them out.

Mine DID NOT show up until I plugged in the phone. What was int he menu, if I remember correctly, was "Projection" or something like that. Once I plugged the phone in, it turned into Apple Play.
