Live in Southern California and Vert is the only way... No problems whatsoever... Get high 5s all the time.

I'm going with a convertible if we can find one with the right configuration. We get maybe 6 weeks of cold weather in SE NC, meaning mid to upper 50's. Supremely frustrated today... Everything is an automatic...or red interior...or doesn't have the NPP exhaust. Working on a dealer locate and hoping something will pop up. Would love to find a 16' I could get a great deal on . The dealers I've talked to today have wanted to focus on my Mercedes that I am trading in, but they don't even have a car for me! I hate buying cars.

This is my fourth convertible and I love it. It is probably my favorite convertible. I love the contrast from the slant like tank view with the top up and completely open with the top down. I did have some initial problems with the top. It would indicate that it was not securely latched and yet it was. It was finally fixed with a change of the wiring harness. Other than that it has been great. Even with that problem I would definitely get a convertible again. Car seems plenty rigid to me. I guess if you were going to track a lot I would get a coupe.

I've owned 2 other verts and a bunch of sports car coupes.
Previous ragtops were 2014 Miata and a 2008 bmw 328i
The 3 series is very comparable to the gen 6 camaro in rigidity and general quality.
It's really a well designed and built car. My wife and I love ours. 1SS manual.

I had a 2011 2SS vert with many issues. On my 2016, I have only had 1 top issue. There was a cable that was misrouted and it caused a rub mark. Once they adjusted that cable routing, I have not had any other issues. Also, no leaks so far. I have had the car for 10 months.

Hello,

I got the vert; I was worried about the car wash or rain storms but then I got to tour the assembly plant in Lansing Michigan during their open house for the 50th release (mine was not yet made). I wouldn't worry a bit about any leakage. Once you see how they are made and what they went through in the factory, these are not old school leaky things. In fact, my dealer ran mine though the brush-less car wash before I took her home. I've done that myself a few times now; I do worry but there hasn't been a drop inside anywhere.

Drop tops rule.

Kindest,

Donner

A convertible is an immediate disqualifier for any vehicle I'm potentially interested in. Close runners up are stripes or loud colors, like a bright yellow, orange or green. Combine all of those and you have a surefire way to make sure I won't like the vehicle.

How is the Convertible's rigidity? Does the car feel solid? Any cowl shake or general feelings of chassis flex? TIA
