Nick, add a LT4 SC and have fun. I have seen these builds making 560-580 whp and big TQ with this SC and everything stock.

there are other threads discussing the pros and cons; tl:dr:
If you want it to be unique, or do some truly wild things add the supercharger
If you want it to be a strong car, with few issues, and overall a better feeling package, buy the ZL1

I'm going back and forth on the exact same thing. I change my mind every few minutes.

I'd lose a lot of money selling my 2SS (6 months old), and I love 0% financing. Sat in a ZL1 yesterday and while I like the alcantara, the interior really isn't an upgrade in any way shape or form.

So now we get down to the 10spd auto, and e-diff. That's where I'm stuck. I'm hoping at some point here in the near future the reviews will get posted on the 10 spd and I can see if that's really as good as it sounds or not.

Last but not least, the idea of warranty. ZL1 with warranty, 2ss without. One major thing blows up and all the money I was afraid of spending (loss on SS, and additional money down for ZL1) goes out the window.

Anybody can just buy a ZL1. Modding the SS exactly the way you want it is half the fun of owning a car like this for me.

My car is a little older than yours at just a few days over a year but it is a summer/weekend car that I only have 4,000 miles on. I was also looking at the big hit between selling my current one plus the automatic depreciation on a new ZL1. I believe some reputable shops offer a 3 yr/36k mile warranty, so I guess that's another thing I need to research more.
If you read through the google you'll see that just about everyone says not to count on the warranty through any of the supercharger vendors. They are held by a 3rd party with a million different outs. :(

The only problem I have had with adding a S/C, is keeping rubber on my back tires. Love My S/C SS.

Depends on what is important to you. Dollar per HP no question SS with SC. But SS with SC vs ZL1 as an overall performance car, ZL1 hands down. You have to add a lot of the other stuff besides SC to get the SS close to matching the Zl1 around a track.

Having said that I love my SS and plan on adding a SC later this year. The cost difference is not worth it for me to sell the SS and move to the ZL1.

SC definitely over ZL1, customization over shellbags. Save money while improving performance...to me it's a no brainer, also like someone mentioned. Alcantara....to me I hate it. It looks ugly...it feels cheap....ugh.

But there is something to be said about having the badge of the ZL1.

Since you say probably won't track the zl1, I'd stick with the SS. I think the biggest benefit of having a zl1 is how it handles at the track straight out of the box.

I went through the same thing. I was debating either ordering a loaded 2SS or ZL1. I kept going over in my head if I "needed the extra 200hp". But when I found the deal on my '16 2SS, I jumped on it. After all the mods I've done and including the Whipple I just ordered, I'm still 20K cheaper than a ZL1 and will have same power if not a little more.

I have the SVE supercharger. I love the fact it's a sleeper.

I think it's funny that some think the SS is a sleeper.

I added a Magnuson Heartbeat and love it. Much cheaper especially if you started out with a 1SS like I did and will run better then the Zl1 since the aftermarket Roots blowers are all larger displacement then the 1.7 eaton that comes on the Zl1. However if I were 10 years younger (65 now) I would have bought a Zl1 A10, but I'm not and very happy with my choice.
