Test pipes with o2 sims?

Has anyone run test pipes or even just welded in straight pipes to replace the secondary cats? I'm looking to increase the volume of my stock exhaust but still be able to install the cats back on the car if needed.

I'm looking to hear sound clips of test pipes on an SS with NPP exhaust.

I also wonder if changing the crimped pipe on the catback to full 3" would help. I know the performance isn't effected much if at all but I just need a little more sound.
