ZL1 suede v. 1LE suede

I was set to buy a 1LE sight unseen then sat in a ZL1. So nice. Does anyone know if it is the same suede setup in both? I felt the heated suede steering wheel and nearly wrote a check that moment, but to be truthful I like the 1LE setup (and price) more.

Everything is the same except white stiching instead of red, the door inserts are leather on the 1LE and it comes with the plastic knee pads so you will need to buy the suede ones like I did.

The seats, steering wheel, and shifter are suede. The dash insert and door panels are from a 1SS. The back seats are from a 2SS.

Everyone that's posted thus far is right on the money.

The seats are identical...just don't say "ZL1" in the 1LE...and stitching is white rather than red. Steering wheel is suede just like the ZL1, but not heated. Shifter is suede as well, just (again) white stitching rather than red.

The upper arm rest trim, lower arm rest trim, knee pads, and door inserts are only suede in the ZL1. These pieces (in 1LE) are identical to 1SS trim.

The material used for the colored inserts, Red vs. Grey, is different.

Just FYI the 1LE does not come with heated wheel or climate control seats. Otherwise all the posts above are correct.

Technically the stitching in the SS 1LE is light gray according to color codes. GM is odd with this as we all know. For example the interior in the SS 1LE is called jet black, which to me would mean a dark, deep black. When in actuality it is more of a dark gray/light black.

Also, the suede shift boot on the SS 1LE's at least has black stitching, the pre-production cars were light gray. Why they changed this is beyond me as all the other stitching in the car is light gray.

My plan is to pull the boot/knob out and have an upholstery shop change the black stitching to matching light gray. While it is out, I am going to have my friend at a body shop paint that cap at the top of the shifter a matte black to match the knob. The shiny and orangey finish of it drives me nuts lol...

No way!

I knew they changed the GFX from graphite to black satin...didn't know about the stitching. Learn something new every day!

Yeah, that change I preferred...the boot stitching is odd since all the other stitching is that light gray. I wonder if it has something to do with the LT 1LE's interior. May be a way to use one part for both the V6 and V8 1LE's. Haven't looked into this yet...

The 1LE does come with heated and cooled Recaros, but the 1LE doesn't have the buttons or programming to control them. They're the exact same seats as the ZL1.

Yeah they did a production change late last year. I'm in two minds about complaining as I like the contrast stitching more, but need something to match the kneepads.

I got the suede knee pads....wish they had the grey stitching. Considering getting the black let her knee pads that have the grey stitch or having a shop put grey stitching on my suede knee and door pads
