Is this a new option in 2018 ZL1?

Was watching a video of new Camaro Zl1. Noticed around 2:01 of the video, they were showing the interior. I noticed a red arm rest on door and red knee pad. I believe the 2017 does not have this. Link to video is below in case anybody wants to see it. Perhaps a new option for 2018? If so, nice of Chevy to tease us a little before the playbook comes out.

The '17s have alcantara knee pads with red stitching. In the video, the knee pads look like faux pas red leather. I much prefer the alcantara look. The red looks kind of cheap in my opinion.

I was thinking you could already buy this on the SS.. I might be wrong though ill check. That is not suede for sure.. leather most likely.

That's at the Detroit Auto Show, I sat in that car last Saturday, yeah I remember them being red. Interior is very nice in these, much improved from the 5th Gen. I also sat in the Grand Sport you can see behind it, both feel about the same in interior room as far as shoulder, thigh, and leg. Vette is of course a little narrower and "sportier".

Those can be added afterwards. There has been people that added the knee pads after purchasing their Camaros. So I don't see why you couldn't do that on the ZL1 if one wanted to change them. Does microfiber only come in black?

It's not a 2018. It just has the red knee trim accessories installed.

Red pieces are accessories available and fitting any 2016 Camaro...I don't think they are regular production options for the ZL1, though. And nothing has been released for 2018 MY, yet.

So I'm not sure why they're on a show car.....

You can purchase the red inserts if you would like but those trim pieces are for the LT/SS models if they are in the leather trim. Fortunately they have the same lineups so you can mix and match as you please. Personally, the alcantara in Z is really nice!
