Bottom line is the average person with a 800 hp car with ANY drag radial driving in the rain will be asking for trouble. Anyone who thinks Joe Blow should be able to buy a car with that kind of power with drag radials and drive it in the rain is delusional. They would have to offer a separate set of wheels with these tires IMO just based on legalities alone if they even go this route.
I agree 100%...

I wonder how much weight it lost? More power, less weight, are bigger better tires are going to be a big upgrade!

Judging by how parts are highlighted in the newest video, I think its safe to assume those are going to be the lightweight parts they used to reach the new weight. Looks like wheels, seats, front suspension and some chassis bracing.

Looks like 18" wheels/tires all around..that will mean pretty puny brakes, and softer sidewalls. Not good for a 4300 pound car...guess this car is forgoing any intention of turning or stopping well. Drag only I guess.

Rumor is it will only make full power on race gas, and will have a dash switch to turn on this feature.

200 lb weight reduction over the present Hellcat. Should be an easy low 10-sec ride with DRs stock.

If it makes the normal 700hp on pump gas, it should be able to hit 10s with the weight reduction better tires alone. If the 850+ pans out on race gas I can see this in the 9s.

Definitely seems this will be the swan song for the LX based Hellcats.

So, I have browsed through the Hellcat forums, but am still not quite sure what the prevailing opinion is. This is what I got so far:

More HP
Ability to run on race gas
Lighter weight
Bigger wheels
Better tires
Optional DR's
More launch mode stuff for the track
Fender flairs to accommodate the bigger wheels/tires

Am I missing anything?

* Wider wheels, not "bigger". They are actually looking to go down from 20" to 18".

Is it possible those are 19"? If they are that means they can still run the older 4 piston Brembos like the Scat Packs have.

Yes, the ability to outrun the ZL1 and most likely the new GT500 in all of the following forums which is where 99% of the average vehicle usage will occur: 0-60, 1/8 mile, ¼ mile, ½ mile, mile, top speed, street race, roll race, and car show, car meets. Hey the ZL1 still has the track venue which nobody races at. Dodge is building a street beast not a track queen.
