That second sweeping tach is just awesome! First digital gauge cluster that uses the technology to it's advantage without looking silly or going full "race car"... and the fist one I actually like.

Whole heart-idly agree. It will make it so much easier to read the tach. It's my understanding the gauge readout changes depending on the driving mode your're in. I would hope that could be manually selected also.

One tach is redlined at 6500, the other at 7500?? Based on miles, it's the same car.

The miles are the first year of the Mustang and engine cubic inches... If we want to play the foreshadowing game - the 6500RPM engine is boosted and will make 755HP, GT500 I'm assuming; while the 7500RPM engine is the updated NA GT engine, and will produce 455HP. Based on gear indicator and speed, if every other number in those renders means something, that's probably true.

Good eye. It's either the EB tach, or perhaps they plan on limiting the GT500 to 6500 for longevity. This is all speculation of course, as this could all be a publicity ploy.

I understood that it will work like the cluster on our Camaros - you'll be able to select a classic/sport/race versions of the gauges and keep them in any mode. Would suck if that awesome display was only available in one mode! Well, not like I would see it anyway lol

The mile count is a easter egg that was programmed in, it's not an actual mile count.

1964.5mi=1964.5..what the early 1965's are called.

One thing to add to the mystery..

If the 755 is indeed a cue..

Guess what the next GT500 is going to have for the first time ever...

I find this hilarious as Ford said the '15 GT PP (and I own one) was going to best the Boss 302, we know how that panned out. Maybe the second time will be a charm.

Actually no, the transmissions are the same. The clutch and the flywheel have been upgraded. Those are not internal transmission parts.

I assume Ford wrote this, and you copy and pasted, but they need to hire copywriters who actually have a clue, or have someone proof read this stuff!
FYI

According to this: http://www.foxnews.com/auto/2017/01/...d-mustang.html

The transmissions are not the same.

"One of the 2018 Mustang’s signature features is its new 10-speed automatic transmission, but a six-speed stick is standard. It’s not a carryover, though, it has a new twin disc clutch and dual-mass flywheel to make it stronger and improve clutch pedal feel. There’s also new gearing with a shorter first gear and two overdrives for improved acceleration and fuel economy. Fourth gear is now direct drive, so if you ignore the 5/6 gate, you can pretty much pretend it’s a classic Toploader."

A double OD MT-82 you say? I wonder if it's to increase mpg to coincide with the 10-speed's increases over the old 6.
