Can we get a sticky thread on GM not backing warranty parts or problems?

Just curious if we can start a thread or get one going on how many have had GM or dealerships deny warranty work on their new Camaro. I myself experienced it, as well I hhave read plenty others in the same situation. Whether it. Was paint, rear diff, oil pan, or end links... currently I have the rear diff problem and they literally refuse to repair it.

Have they stated their reasoning?

That was exactly it. That and they didn't want to investigate the issue as it's not their job. Though they do diagnose mechanical problems on vehicles. I've contacted the BBB and waiting to hear back from an attorney.

I have been super lucky so far and have had several things warranty fixed...

Paint defects, Half my car has been repainted and they are paying me back for the clear bra they removed.

Door rattles, Fixed

Someone punctured a hole in the side of the passenger seat... I didn't notice it until 3 days later. They are replacing the seat skin when it arrives.

On Saturday I noticed the side panel trim in the back seat (under/around the quarter glass) was cracked really badly with scratches all over the window and gauge marks on the edges from someone trying to pry it off. I had the windows tinted recently too mind you... The body shop the dealership took the car to took responsibility for it and ordered another panel.

If I had your luck lol. I spoke to GM corporate after I filed with the BBB. I mentioned it seems to be a common problem if dealers not helping and upholding warranties. I told the I'd like to advocate for everyone here so we could all enjoy the car we bought. I don't think it would happen but hey it's worth a shot.

I have had mixed luck with dealers and GM in general. I HAD a 2015 silverado LTZ that developed the v4/v8 shimmy and although it was documented by 100's if not 1000's of owners, I got the "it's normal". So I decided that I would simply no longer buy a vehicle from a MFG who turns their back until they are FORCED to fix it. I have a cheap 2016 ford commuter and they have fallen over backwards to fix ANYTHING I wanted, GM not so much.

Chevy Customer Don't Care

Prettt worthless in my opinion. Seems like they like to chime in here on the forums to make it look good...people see it and say things like glad to see Chevy is stepping up...total BS...they strung me along for a month and ended with saying they had exhausted all their options...never once calling me and telling me what had transpired. Their solution for me was to drive 300 miles back to the dealer and discuss my concerns with them. Forget trying to make things right to gain loyal customers...they got our money and now we have to fend for ourselves. If you have a valid gripe seems like legal action is probably the only way to get restitution! Its a shame cause it seems like they're gonna lose a lot of loyal customers because of their piss poor outlook on what customer satisfaction really is!

I don't know that it's fair to refer to the servicing dealers as "GM". I have good dealers near me and I have bad. The dealerships have WAY more pull than they will let on. Find a good dealer and you will be happy with "GM" again.

I haven't had a dealership turn me away and not cover something but I am a bit bothered with the rear differential clutches sticking and causing vibration. GM hasn't come out with any real guidance for the dealerships, there's just one bulletin that explains how to check to see if it's the tires or the rear and if it's the rear to change the rear diff fluid with a new type.

I went in to get that done and it didn't fix the issue, it doesn't stick as bad but the dealer said that's all they can do, and to give it a few hundred miles to let the new fluid "work itself in" which doesn't sound right to me. If it's still causing me issues I'm going back.

GM really needs to determine a root cause and fix this, it's also common in some of their other cars.
