My 6 year old step daughter lent me a helping hand when I was trying to get the header bolts started on the driver side. She came out into the garage at the right time.

Didn't you eliminate primary cats before header install, did you use the Kooks green cats with these new headers?

Yes I had the CA pipes installed. For the Kooks I went with the standard HF cats. I didn't think the Green cats were worth the added expense given that the car is tuned anyways. I didn't install the rear O2s. If I ultimately need them to pass inspection in 2 years I'll pop them in.
The cats tame down sound a bit from where it was with the CA pipes. The nice thing about the Kooks pipes is that you can swap between off-road and cats very easily if you desire to do so. Simple swap. Tim |

got a picture of my youngest when he was about 3 years old, with his electric truck on bricks and he under it "fixing" it. Note in Texas you can be '"fixing" to do anything but actually fixing som'ten.

I started wrenching on cars with my dad when I was 10 years old. To this day I still do all of my own work within reason.

I won't say this will apply to every installation but on my car I encountered an arcing plug wire tonight. Cylinder #3. The wire is too close (looks to be barely touching) and started failing from the heat. I have the Holley 45 degree wires on order. I was able to rotate the boots to gain some clearance but it's still not ideal.
Just FYI |

Yes there will be a bit more clearance due to the smaller diameter. Had I taken more time to rotate the boots upfront on this one cylinder I probably wouldn't have had an issue at all with the stock wires.
In the interest of finding the best approach I've ordered both the Holley 45 degree wires and the MSDs which have a bendable boot. I'll see which gives the best fitment and clearance. They will both be in tomorrow. Red wires = more HP ![]() Tim |

I went with the MSD wires over the Holley 45 degree. The bendable boots on the MSDs let you get perfect clearance. I wasn't impressed with the Holley's.
