Can I remove SS brake cooling ducts?

Anyone know if there will be any negative side effects of removing the SS front brake air deflectors that come on the car in the winter? Note that I am talking about the smaller ones that come on the car and not the larger "track only" ones that come with the car. I never track the car so I am thinking that it will be fine.

I want to do this because I put the OEM 18" tires w/ the all-seasons on for the cold weather and the wheel weights are coming into contact with the plastic air deflector when making tight turns.

Yup, I did seeing as I don't plan to track the car for a few months and although slight chance may get dumped on with snow at the drop of the hat. Been know to happen out here, although slight chance. And they definitely don't plow due to that lack of resources and commonality of snow storms. But...didn't want them ff'd up if a snow storm hit, cause I know I'd have to drive in it! lol

It sounds like a light knock every second or so. The sound is coming from the rotating wheel weights hitting that plastic air deflector. I am guessing that the LT models do not have them.

When the steering wheel is turned to the right, you hear it on the driver side and vice versa.
