I was going to do this to cover the intake hole, but I need something for the firewall.

My Rotofab install kit jettisoned the sound tube. Loving the delete.

Seems like a total waste of engineering and manufacturing resources. With an aftermarket intake it's completely unnecessary as increased intake noise is inherent.

Some BMW's play a synthesized exhaust sound through the radio. Some claim it is possible to turn it off through coding, but I am not sure. Yet another wasted technology.

I used to code BMWs (F Series) and it was easy to turn that feature off. I also can code a few things on my Highlander using Techstream. I wish I could do the same with my Camaro.

I was surprised to find my ZL1 does not have a sound tube. Is that just for the ZL1, or do other Camaros not have it??

mine came off naturally when I installed my Maggie heartbeat. although, there is about 6" remaining that's tucked away under the drivers side strut brace. They did provide a cap for that. To do it right I guess, I would buy that firewall plug that someone mentioned.

I installed the Roto-Fab CAI with sound tube delete. However, I did not remove the tube from the firewall anticipating using it as a conduit to run wires into the cabin.

Totally get your opinion. But know that tuning intake noise is a big deal.

There are people that want no insulation, sound reduction and just the beautiful sound of the LT1. Others want a balanced and tuned sound from the factory.

So don't fall down the age old trap of, "because I think it was bad, it must therefore be bad".

Or to quote Fbodfather, "you can't please everyone"

If you go Rotofab the delete option is well worth it.

Thanks for using our intake guys! If anyone has any more sound tube delete questions, I will do my best to help!

Have a great weekend

I just used chair endcaps to cover the fittings where the tube meets the intake. Decided not to gut the whole intake assembly since I might need to put it in stock condition for warranty.

However you should email or pm Rotofab, I think they can sell you the cover separately.
