Gen6 has stopped me wanting my old Gen2
My first car that I saved up for was a 70.5 Camaro RS which I went thru plenty of parts, engines and even a donor 73 SS 4sp and rear end donor. I was a young kid and even put on z28 emblems, which I would never do again but I was a kid and wanted a Z28.
Below is my only surviving picture. Original purchased in 1976 for $1800. I always wanted to tackle a rebuild but my new 2016 SS has my mind changed and I will never look back again. Chevy has done a great job on the GEN6. Has the Gen6 changed your mind?

Agree 100%. For me, it was a Gen. 1 1969 Z-28 302cu.in. but my 2016 Camaro RS is absolutely amazing. Light years ahead of the old muscle cars.

engineering wise, you're not going to top the 6th gen. Look-wise... 3rd gen (92 anniversary) was my goto favorite look. 6th gen is plenty sexy though and I'd have to pick it even over a theoretical brand new 3rd gen that had all 6th gen guts.

I've always wanted a split bumper BADLY but it would be for looks only. I'm way too techy to drive an old dinosaur and I'm not rich enough to restore a car to the level where it would make me enjoy it I think.

I had a Gen1 '68 Camaro in lime green with a black vinyl top in HS... blew the 327 engine outside of Sacramento on the way to ski in Lake Tahoe in the early 80s and could not get a signature loan with a cosigner to rebuild. I ended up selling it for $1K and have always wanted to get another one - especially numbers matching!
Fast forward to 2016 and I went for a Gen6 over all the German cars I've owned and have not looked back. This car is amazing and fast!!!

The Gen6 did have to grow on me, the euro styling at points had me questioning until I saw it in person. Most of the release images made the car look really soft. Fast forward to now and I love my car even more so with the few mods I have done.

Hammer your car sounds sweet with the cam, I am going to follow a few mods that you have done and do the cam mod that you just did. I was waiting for more positive feed back on E85 and your mod sold me on that too. Thanks Hammer

As for me I really missed my 2015 ZL1 after getting my CA6 SS from GM.
But after driving the car around for a year and adding 40 RWHP, I still miss the ZL1 a little but I don't want another one if I cannot keep the 2016. I have been a lucky guy. ![]()

I had wanted a split bumper for some time, and in 2011 I bought a 1970 factory air auto, RS. Very rough car with non matching engine and trans. All fluids leaked form the drive train so I put zz5 engine mated to a 2004R overdrive tranny. Been working off and on and is very near paint. Since the 1970 was first year for second gen, I bought a 2016, 2SS with all the options. I get your point, I am loosing interest in finishing, but in the northern plains of Soutth Dakota I need something to do in the winter as my new car sits in storage. Although I have done all the work so far, I will let professionals do the paint. Should make for a nice cruising oldy, wish me luck, probably another two years until completion.
