LT4 heads on LT1?

Does anybody know if the LT4 heads will swap over to the LT1 and if it's even worth it or not.

LT4 heads have a bigger combustion chamber which would lower your compression ratio, netting an N/A car with less power...

^^^What he said^^^^ Yes they will swap over but not worth it unless you are going blown. Mine has lt4 heads and top end.

Yeah I wanted to drag along a blower as well - such as the Z06 blower.

Exactly what I did. Sent my lt4 heads out to get ported and tossing in a nice healthy cam along with headers and full exhaust. Went with a 2.38 upper pulley and 9.10 lower pulley as well.

You did all that and didn't swap the pistons?

I wonder if milling the heads to gain compression would help?

Yes and no. I went with aftermarket forged pistons and rods. Heads are actually still out getting a full port as well.

LT4 heads do lot mate to the LT1 manifold, it's a different bolt pattern. GM Perf makes ported heads for the LT1.

As stated above, GMPP makes a CNC head for the LT1 if you are wanting a factory product.
