The first sentence is THE thing. I test drove several different cars...The Camaro SS is the one that truly SPOKE to me. I'm a new owner, since Nov 30th. But still a happy owner. Good Luck. |

At 6'2" 300, I'm not skinny either. Last year I injured my left hip, which had to be replaced. I was still getting in and out of a stick shift 5th Gen Camaro right up until my hip surgery. During my recovery I looked at a 6th Gen. Not gonna lie, the interior dimensions are a little tighter. I still fit and I could still drive it. Best of luck on whatever you decide ! |

I liked the Camaro the best of all 3 by far. But the Camaro build/quality control is sh!t. Make sure you know what you're getting into and if you're willing to put up with it. |

Well, for me...I tried all 3 and the camaro was the right one. Actually, the mustang and the challenger is the vehicles that had visibilty issues to me...The mustang sits on 107 inch wheelbase, the challenger on 116 inch wheelbase, the camaro was just right at 110.7 inch wheelbase, also the position of the drivers seat, the "bang for the buck" all worked for the camaro for me. I purchased a 2017 Turbo 4 cylinder and that is just perfect for me... Take your time and try them all out...

The Challenger is huge, although it does have a real back seat. It is also not nimble, but that might not matter to many.

I am 5'8 245 pounds I'm stocky I would say. actually felt comfortable in a 2-15 mustang but that was a year ago. I am shocked people are having build quality issues I thought that was only the mopar guys with those issues. but I will be hyper vigilant in checking out whatever car. is there a link to a thread about common build issues to look for just to be informed.

Welcome! Of course, I'm biased...since I just bought a SS about 3 weeks ago...but if you want, check out my post about it. I traded in my BMW for my SS and have ZERO regrets.

advice
get on all three forums (Ford, Dodge, and any other car) and ask the same question.
then test drive each; that is what I did and after much discussion and driving, purchased the Camaro. |

For sheer fun and comfortable cruising, the Scat Pak is probably top choice. I'd still love to get one. The handling isn't as bad as people make out - I had a 2015 Charger R/T Road & Track and had no trouble cornering at speed. The only thing bad with that car was that it had an open diff, which I hated. The Challenger has LSD, so no such issue there. The Camaro SS is *probably* the best handling car I've driven, though. It's fun, it's fast, and it corners amazingly. The only thing I don't like are the brakes - I prefer something with a much firmer bite. As soon as EBC make brakes for the 6th Gen I'll be upgrading. You need to put a little more effort in to get the most fun from it than you do with the Scat Pak, but it's the better "driver's car" overall. I have zero regrets driving a 2016 2SS, and can't wait to get on the track this year. With regards to fit, I'm a 5'10 bodybuilder weighing 240lbs and I find the Camaro to be very comfortable. No issues there at all. Ultimately, though, as others have said, test driving them all is the best thing you can do. Pitching them all against each other to get the best price is worth trying, too. You may also find you have different transmission preferences in the different cars. For instance, I like the Scat Pak with the auto box, but the Camaro feels right with the manual. |

Make sure you test drive something with magnetic shocks, it is something that you can't get in a Dodge, and is a real game changer. I am 6'4" 295 and I fit fine in my Camaro. These cars have good length in the legroom, but they are a bit tight at the knees.

The 6th gen Camaro is a really great car, especially if you're looking at a 1LE or a loaded 2SS. I think you'll need to look at the SRT8 and GT350 versions of the competition to get something comparable in terms of performance and/or features...
I personally had a CTS-V1 before my 2SS and put almost 10k miles on a '15 SRT 392 Challenger. The Challenger is a great GT car but I ultimately wanted a sports car. The markups on GT350s were just too insane for me to seriously consider it, but I would have bought one at MSRP if I'm being honest. The Mustang GT is a soft cruiser that can be bought a bit cheaper, but ultimately the chassis and power just aren't there to compete with the Camaro. A GT wouldn't win a magazine comparison to an M4... Test drive the configurations you want and see what type of car you like best. They're all very different, even though they're in the same market segment.
