Most December snow in a VERY long time! Yes the car IS dirty I know. I park it in a garage so the dirt tends not to get washed off unless it rains or I go to a u-wash.

Interesting. What did people do before AWD... I don't think snow is a new thing.

Got caught in some lake effect snow on the Ohio turnpike while heading from Cleveland to Detroit with Goodyear supercar g2's on the car and holy s*** that was scary. Wasn't expecting the lake effect to start 6 hours earlier than forecast but that's lake effect snow for ya. As soon as I hit snow covered portion of the highway at about 45 I was instantly sideways. Babied it through the bands for about 15 miles at 20 mph. I have always enjoyed driving in the snow (with proper equipment) and it takes a lot to scare me but it happened here lol.

I know the g2's are awful in cold and snow but the cold and snow came earlier than expected lol. Now she is in storage until the Michigan winter is over.

This is at a service plaza on the turnpike after driving through the bands.

Tell that to all the trucks and SUVs owners on the road in the winter.

I've always ran stock PSI on my snow tires.

Different PSI isn't going to help you increase traction on cold surfaces vs warm...

And honestly, with such short sidewalls (these aren't high profile truck tires), PSI changes will be minimally effective at best.

What IS important...is that as the temperature drops with the season, you put more air in the tire to keep PSI at a proper level.

For instance...Let's say a tire requires 35psi.

On a warm, 80º summer day, they'll read 35.

But in the winter, that same tire untouched, could read 28-29. In this case...add pressure to bring it back up to 35 for the season.

Otherwise, the tires will wear poorly, handling, and traction could be negatively affected.

All the snow has melted but I had Blizzak WS80's installed onto 18" Fast Rennen wheels. I'm digging the black wheels and thinking about getting the stock 20's painted for spring. Also installed RPI splash guards and had a clear bra put on the face, mirrors and rear bumper trunk lip.
