They can swap it for a different tire. The road hazard probably has verbiage saying so. As long as it's an equivalent tire and correct size I'm pretty sure they can.

I will be running this Runflats a little longer since I've only got 2181 miles on them then dump them for something better.

I had a nail or screw in my passenger rear that I had patched at Discount Tire. They said that other run flats they won't touch but the Goodyear ones they can do one patch on and one only. Also, it was free so that worked.

Discount Tire did my work. They said same thing. They did patch it but I went ahead and replaced it and made the patched my "spare".

This will be a long reply so apologies in advance.

Back during Pony Wars at the track in Valdosta a few months back I tried launch control for the first time and even though I thought I figured it out and ran a few 12.2's, I still don't think I got it right. I don't remember what RPM it held at either and I wish I had paid more attention.

My "issue" was that even the runs that ended up ok for time started out kinda odd, or at least compared to my old 2012 V6. Manual shift for the burnout in first gear and then back to auto...track mode...double-click the TT button for competitive mode...all check. Put the brake pedal to the floor as hard as you can...check. Next step is floor the gas but when I did the car would lurch a good bit and then act like it was struggling hard against the brakes, to the point where during one run some of my friends were watching and said they saw the right wheel slowly turning (possibly both but they only saw one side). Inside the car it felt like it was shaking a good bit like it really wanted to go and when I released it, it sure went and, like I said, the times were good. I just can't believe that full brake pressure with 4-piston Brembos at all four corners isn't enough to keep the rear wheels from turning.

I was expecting the RPMs to come up to about 2k and hold there, everything else otherwise calm and peaceful, then launch. I was not expecting the car to feel like it was having a seizure wanting to break free. My only theory is that perhaps I didn't get the steps quite right. The manual says you're supposed to hit the gas in one quick motion and maybe I didn't? I vaguely remember the first couple tries were worse, at least for time, when I applied the gas cautiously. I mean it's still a new car, I didn't want to go all John Force on it the first few runs down the track. I also distinctly remember losing the semifinal round because I forgot to put the trans back in auto shift. That was dumb.

So yeah, that was my experience. Anyone else? In my 2012 V6 without any fancy tech all I did was hold the brake normally and give it a little gas up to about 1000, wait for the tree and then go (any more RPM and it tended to lose traction). Even on the street if you had it in drive with your foot on the brake and gave it all the gas you could it would physically limit itself to 1500 rpm and go nowhere. No shaking or struggling, just sit there. I know this car has a lot more power but enough to overcome the torque converter, trans, drive shaft, diff, half shafts, brakes, and still move the wheels? What's the stall limit of the factory converter anyway?

And since I'm in here catching up today I'll post another question I've had brewing. Tried the search function but it's either broken or ineffective. Anyway...

Anybody else occasionally hear something like a rubbing sound coming from the wheels on a cold start and only when turning? Seems like most mornings when I start the car and take off for the first few minutes of the drive, any turns I make produce a slight rubbing sound or at least that's the best way I can describe it. After making a few turns and the car is warmed up it doesn't do it. I would guess maybe the brakes are sticky at first but then I go back to the fact it only does it when I make turns. Based on that I would think it would have to be coming from the front.

Thoughts?

I've heard this being an issue with the A8 rear diff. That's usually when I've seen people complain about this. The fix is usually a rear diff flush or inspection.

I can't say about the launch control as mine is a manual.

I would say your rubbing noise is your diff, lots of people talked about it. Videos on YouTube and stuff. Seems like the majority changed the oil and the minority had their diff replaced via the dealership.

I may be totally wrong, but worth the investigation.

Thanks guys, at least that's something I can get sorted out fairly easily. I put enough miles on over the holidays I'm about due for another oil change anyway. I'll do some more searching on this. Any recommendations on diff oil, other than whatever the dealership would use?

Didn't even think to ask if you were manual or auto KyBoy. That would make a difference I suppose, at least insofar as how the trans handles the load, stall speed of the converter, etc. If anyone else has thoughts on this, I'm all ears. I don't plan to race again anytime soon and other than the occasional weird shift (mostly at low speeds from 1 to 2 after just starting the car) the car seems fine but now I've got it in my head that I might have stressed something too hard. I needlessly worry about a great many things...

I used the factory differential oil.

Got it all from Amazon. That little pump is worth its weight gold.

My Christmas present to myself is on its way.

Ordered the dark tail lights from Maureen yesterday. ( Maureen ) Should be here on Monday.

Now if the weather will just cooperate and warm up a little bit I can get out to the garage and change 'em out.

Haven't been able to drive her for almost a week now.

However, with Colorado weather all you have to do is wait a little while and it will change. We average 300+ sunny days a year, but unfortunately not all of them are above 35 degrees. (Still have the summer run-flats.)

They're really easy to swap out Ric. I'm in the same boat with the weather. She's tucked away and it's snowing.
