Not likely. The book lists it for the Corvette only. Besides, I don't see them fitting a DOHC under the hood of an Alpha Camaro. I don't see them doing it under the hood of a C7, either. I wouldn't be surprised if the DOHC is a place holder or typo and the LT5 is a new LTx, similar to the LS6 vs LS1.

I agree about the lack of space under the C7 hood for DOHC heads, not likely.
Camaro has more, enough? I'm not sure. Ford does it. But, would they use a mid engine 32V vette motor in a Camaro? Should be around 550+HP. |

My guess is this is the engine for the Zora ZR1 Corvette. There was a user on the Corvette board who works for GM and hinted around that a mid engine mule was being tested.

I see this going into the Z/28, red line of 7600 RPM with a 570 hp number, that in a 3500lb Z/28 will work what do you think.

Isn't all this in the 20 page " Guesing what's under the Hood" thread?

Honestly, I expect the Z28 to have the LT1 with the H/C package on it. Higher rev capability and around 535hp. Uses existing parts off the shelf to keep costs down on a specialty model while also showcasing their small block technology.
Provides a 30hp jump over the previous gen (much like the regular SS), a noticeable bump over the regular SS and also gives them bragging rights vs. the GT350 without infringing on ZL1 horsepower.

I used to be Dragoneye...
|
It'd also be heavier...at 6.2L+DOHC...I wonder if (in terms of weight) the Z/28 wouldn't be lighter with an LT4 than this hypothetical engine.

I've been trying to find the weight for the AMG M159 but I haven't had any success. That's the only DOHC 6.2 I can think of.

I find that hard to believe.
