I was looking at those:

Miata - Mostly loved it cause of all the positive reviews, I didn't test drive it as it was the least interesting car from my list
GT350 - Too expensive & too hard to find
'15 Z/28 - Too expensive and horrible interior
'16 1SS - My second choice after the Shelby, but I luckily found out there were 10% off some cars and so I started looking for 2SS instead.

and ended up in a 2SS - bought it in August, drove it around 160 miles in the USA and now it's being shipped to my country. BUT MAN IT'S TAKING FOREVER TO REACH!

I had sold a plot of land and was going to use that cash and go to a car auction and find me something and pay cash with it. Was looking at getting a used 5th gen but they were going for to much so i thought i was gonna have to settle for something like an Acura TL or Nissan Maxima coupe or possibly an older model Infiniti g35. But then my awesome fiance told me to just go buy a new camaro since thats what i really wanted and to get whatever I wanted. I was dumbfounded but ecstatic at the same time. I found a good deal on a RS at the time and pulled the trigger. Wish i would have waited a few more months though and got a 2SS but thats hindsight.

Sold my cars (had a bunch from being in oilfeild before it took a shi* last year) and bought a house. I had basically downgraded to a 15 focus st I got used as well as an 02 Z06 (paid cash). Loved the pair but wanted something more updated. Once more sold both the Z06 and st and was daily driving a 2002 purple buick rendezvous lol.

Walked into ford dealership and signed on a new 16 gt auto and added the rousch stage 2 supercharger (they were going to dealer trade then do the sc install in house). It was going to be a 2 -3 week process and I was just under 41k plus ttl (base equipped car no track pack). I don't care about brand loyalty so I was good with the 5.0 but the automatic just made me reconsider (i hate auto sport cars) and the mt82 in the mustangs are garbage.

Canellled the stang deal and Looked at a new base 1lz Z06 and actually bought it for it to have serious heating issues 3 days later at 235 miles. After being towed back to dealer and in limbo for 2 months gm bought it back. They gave me a really amazing deal on my ss although they had to dealer trade it bc there were no manual fifty's with sunroof on the lot (both a must have for me). Never even test drove it lol, just bought it and picked it up a few days later when it arrived.

I work at a port, so it was easy to look at pretty much everything that I wanted to look at. By the time I was done looking, these were my top 4:

1. Nissan GT-R (still my #1, but too much $$)
2. Camaro SS
3. Mustang GT
4. Challenger Hellcat.

Other players were:
BMW M3
BMW M4
Lexus RC F
Lexus GS F
Cadillac CTS V-Sport

The Camaro and Mustang were dead even on my list, and the Camaro ended up winning based on the interior and exterior styling.

1. BMW 325i
2. Audi A6
3. Mustang GT
4. Dodge Charger

Funny part, is I only looked at the above 4 on-line. When I saw the Anniversary Camaro for the first time, within 24-hours I went to the Dealership and placed my Order.....

Ran the gambit basically as I had no clue what I wanted.

Nissan Maxima, Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro, Hyundai Genesis 3.8 Coupe, Subaru WRX STI... weird mix right? I then realized I wanted raw power/performance. Test drove the 3 major players and the Camaro won my heart.

Since my car is not a daily driver and is more of a weekend fun car, it had to win out over other hobbies on my wish list. Some were cars, others were not cars. Before I bought the camaro I was looking at the following things.

1. Corvette C5 Z06
2. Polaris RZR 4 1000
3. 2016 Yamaha R1 / R6
4. 1995 / 1996 Ford f150 4x4 5.8 supercab prerunner 4link / coilovers 9 inch rear end
5. Ford raptor (overpriced) great truck

In the end the Camaro 2SS won out. I can use it whenever I want, unlike an offroad vehicle that I have to drive 2 or 3 hours to the desert to have fun with. R1 / R6 was a close second.

Nothing. I wasn't even considering a new car before I drove the new SS.
Travelled to Charlotte last March on business and I had already booked a basic rental but when I got to the counter, I wanted to see if they had any deals on upgrades to something more fun.
Dude said there was a Vette for like $150/day (no, thanks), or brand new Camaro SS with 4 miles on it for about $45/day. Deal. (Now, at this point, I had no idea the Camaro was all new, let alone what to expect with this new SS).

It was an A8, but I was hooked. Between work meetings, I put on about 350 miles before turning it back in. When I got home, I spec'd one to build, but found the perfect match a week later on a showroom floor near PHL.

Thought about another ATS but I have always wanted a Camaro and when the dealership received their first one and I was able to sit in it and see it in person I was in love. With the Camaro sharing the same Alpha platform, turbo engine and 6 speed row-your-own trans I had in the ATS I knew I would not be disappointed and ordered her without a test drive.

But who I was kidding, once I saw the 2016 Camaro I was set on it.
