I've thought about the same thing. I have the V6 model too. At that time I wanted a car that I can mod myself. Which turned out great. But a lot of people always ask "why not the v8" it's not that I can't afford it. It's because I want to be financially stable just incase something happens. I love having a cushion for emergency. My plan is to wait 5 or 6 years. Where I enjoyed the v6 and just have fun with it. Then if or when Chevy remodel the camaro again. I will be done with my payments and maybe get a trade in value of 10k for my v6 then I will trade it in for a new SS or ZL1. And can actually wait for those model to decrease a bit.

I'm in the same boat as you are and I paid $8000 down for mine and owe around $22k left so i wouldnt be as upside down as you are but still....but the V8 envy is real and I get sick of the "It's only a V6" teasing but you know what? I'll deal with it til i'm ahead and trade it in for a 2SS eventually next time theres a sale in a few years. For now, i'll enjoy my 335hp V6 that can whoop up on some older model V8. Bide your time and enjoy your care for now and in a few years trade it in for that SS you want.

You can do it! But it isn't worth the financial butt loving.

I would like to trade my RS in for an SS too. But I am 50 and have enough money to do so if I choose. It just doesn't make sense to throw the money away.

Since you are 19, I'd recommend you build up that V6 until it's the fastest V6 around.

There is always going to be someone faster, stronger, tougher, etc. If you are always chasing that, you forget to enjoy your life.

Wow, talk about resurrecting a 2.5 yr old thread. The OP hasn't even been on the site for over 2 years.

These questions alone have "bad decision" written all over it.

+1. I'd love and can afford an SS but I am saving my money towards retirement right now as I don't want to work forever. In the mean time the V6 is a blast. Perhaps not the fastest out there but probably the best bang for the buck car you can get that runs on regular gas. I use mine for commuting and enjoy it every day and get 30+ MPG. Install an axle back exhaust and hear the nice sound of the V6- it howls so nice at 5-7K RPM.
