Skip Shift Eliminator Install in NY or NJ

Greetings,

I am looking to have the Skip Shift Eliminator Which I bought from Amazon get Installed On my Car....I tried doing it myself with Jack Stands but just wasn't able to.....I called Several Transmission Shops here in NY within Long Island and NYC area and these shops have no Idea what I am talking about, does any body know any Transmission Shops in and around NY who has done this job on Other Camaros and can do this install for me?

Thanks....

I've done a 2002 Corvette and 2010 Camaro using a jack and jack stand. So it should be possible.

Don't worry I had to take my car in to get it installed too. Was very difficult to do with a jack and a stand

I did my CTS-V1 with a jack... the gen6 Camaro has the connector much higher up on the transmission and would be VERY difficult (if not impossible) to do without a lift :(

Any normal shop can do it though, it's just a simple connector.

I dunno... I did mine in my garage on jack stands up front & crawling under the car. Took me maybe 20 minutes total, a long flat blade screwdriver & a good shop light. And i'm 63, so not as nimble as I used to be. The hardest part was to get the top connector lined up correctly to push in. I used the long blade flat tip screw driver for that. Once lined up, it slid right in.

Nice... I don't have a flat tip screw driver with a long enough blade, only have two jack stands (edit: looks like you do as well) and I couldn't get my hand in between the trans and trans tunnel. I guess anything is possible with the right tools and determination

I used a 3.5 ton truck jack to lift the car, then used a creeper to slide under. Took a mildly frustrating 20 minutes or so, much the same as BrianL actually - I also used a flat head screw driver to push the plug in until it clicked.

At what point are you having trouble? Getting the OEM plug to release, or getting the eliminator plugged in? I found a decent light and a flat head screw driver were all I needed, but I'd say my hands are medium to large in size. If you have big hands, I can't imagine it'd be possible to get them up in there. Do you have any friends with small hands? Without the screw driver I don't think I'd have been able to get it myself (grab a cheap one from Walmart if you need to - it shouldn't cost you more than a dollar or two).
