C7 Z06 fenders installed on my 1LE

Hope everyone had a great new year and I'm happy to see several of you guys are taking delivery!

So as most of you know we have a wider wheel package and didn't get the ZL1 fenders. In an attempt to mitigate the extra wheel poke I ordered C7 Z06 fenders from ThatGMPartsGuy.com. I had the day off so I went to a local buddies shop and borrowed a lift today and spent the day slicing and drilling.

I won't go on about modifications but these obviously weren't meant for our cars. I did not modify the Camaro's wheel well at all only the Z's. Basically cutting off the inner fender and drilling holes to match the wheel well bolts.

They're definitely not perfect and leave about 1/4 inch to spare on tire width. But after several hours fighting with these I thought I'd at least share the final product.

I like the idea and the effort, I'm just not 100% sold on this solution.

I couldn't quite picture how it is on the Vette.

Looks like your version is pretty close.

I like those fender flares...it's funny though...the z06 crowd hates them because they think they look cheap. I guess on 90k car they should just design wider fenders instead of using abs plastic as a solution lol.

The only issue is it doesn't really follow the lines of the car towards the end. I wish a company would make a set for our cars

I appreciate your effort, but no bueno on how they look IMO. Plus you lose the fat ass poke look from the front...

They ended up wider than I expected honestly. My hope was that the "poke" would turn flush once modified and installed, no such luck.

Redneck, I'm never doing this again! But, if you want some advice I could definitely help. It took me 4 hours to do the passenger side and less than 1 hour to completely modify, measure and install the driver side.

These are honestly a means to an end and my hope is the several companies I reached out to have a bolt on solution that covers the whole front and rear fenders soon.

Great effort man!

For me, I love the slight poke tho.. gives the car a very aggressive look.

Anyone try a set of ZL1 fenders or would that require a complete front end swap?
Just a thought... I do like how yours taper into the wheel well towards the back, makes it look very similar to the factory Z06 install, nice work! Very clean!

Great idea. And a big thanks for doing this.
It shows what is missing from our cars.
I said a few times we need flares....not a wide body kit.
Done right you could throw 11" up front and 12" out back.

I'd love to find some rear equivalents and throw a monster tire set up on this car. Didn't Al O mention staggered is better on our cars?

I always wanted to put the rear wheels out 5mm to match the flush fitment in front.

I think there was a member here who talked to Randy pobst who had brought the issue up with AlO. Kinda he-said-he-said but I'm guessing they optimized it.. I'm gonna run the stock setup for now and see how it goes. Even the grip on my stock 1SS was decent, and this car/tire setup seems to be on another level...
