Good question... if they take Supplier I'd suspect Employee is in the game too.

Yes I did get the GM employee discount on my new ZL1. Also $500 for having a leased GM vehicle. That's it.

It is at the discretion of the dealer. Mine refused to honor my supplier discount on an A10 given the very few allocations so far.

Right. It's right on GM's employee and supplier discount pages that the dealer doesn't have to participate, but I think that's BS. If the buyer is getting the car at whichever discount they are eligible for and the dealer is not marking it down anymore than that, the dealer is effectively selling the car at MSRP because they get reimbursement from GM for the discount amount. My friend who placed my original order, but didn't get allocation, made it sound like the discount comes straight off of the dealers' invoice on an ordered vehicle. So why wouldn't a dealer honor the discount? Does GM make it a hard process for the dealer to get their money back? If the discount comes straight off the invoice on an ordered vehicle, then that thought doesn't apply. I've talked to many dealers over the years and everyone I've asked about the discounts around here say they love selling them on those plans because they can make more money on the vehicle, which makes sense. If someone isn't eligible for the discount, they usually won't buy unless the dealer marks the vehicle down a couple thousand, which eats straight into their profit. Whereas if the car is sold under a program discount, most buyers probably just take it for whatever their discount knocks off, which is a manufacturer discount and the dealer makes the full margin.
