So is big al or gm or whomever is putting this in writing? Sorry but that statement is vague. What exactly is whatever? Is this track coverage is the owners manual? Only reason I ask is I can't believe I am the only one that knows the day will come when someone comes back here and starts the thread of "My dealership won't fix my car, I told them I broke it while at the track and they denied my warranty repair" So is this in writing or are people supposed to print this off and carry this statement around in their glove box?
No, it won't be written down expressly as a "track warranty". For many reasons... But what this represents is a confidence in their cars that you won't find from nearly any other manufacturer of performance vehicles.

They did this last generation, and I don't recall there ever being any denied coverages, unless the car in question was modified.

Chevy is *not* saying that your warranty is void if you track it. And that is subtle, but significant.

Also - last generation..."track days" for pleasure, were differentiated from "competitive events". I imagine the same is true this time around.

Warranty Denied!!!

I've been following this forum for a bit now and love my 2016 2SS Camaro. I am not pleased with how GM will not cover any damage done "at the track and/or if the vehicle was driven harsh."

I now need a second rear differential after the the first one failed around 2300 miles. It's creating the same rubbing noises when turning hard left or hard right when taking its firtst 2-3 turns in the cold.

I had read another forum here on Camaro6 that there are other Camaro owners dealing with same problem and have not been successful in any repairs. Fortunately the dealer I took it to in town inspected the fluid and found metal shavings in the differential which prompted a replacement.

Now fast forward 4000 miles and we have the same noises put the same service department is reluctant to do the repair once again do to "harsh driving" and noted a video of the Camaro on "social media" I was later contacted by the local dealership and granted the second rear differential replacement but any of the same repairs will not be covered under the warranty.

I spoke with GM and they don't want to go further with any repairs to the rear differential. They are also totally unaware of this ad or reassurance about taking the Camaro to the Track and will not back it.

Fortunately the local dealer is doing the repair at a loss but with a clause of no other coverage once the repair is done.

I need the work done but do not want to lose any warranty coverage. What to do Peeps?!!?!

I'm sure there are a few GM employees in the forum here who may sympathize with my situation.

Personally this is false advertising, this "Take it to the Track"

The longer I have this car the more my hatred of dealerships grows. If the rear diff issue isn't addressed officially I'm getting rid of it next year. It's just not worth the headache dealing with these people

That's crazy. I would keep going up the chain at GM. I specifically bought this car so I could track it occasionally and retain the warranty based on their executives statement. They need to stand by that claim or face lawsuits for warranty denials.
