Illuminated bowtie install issue

Welp, got the bumper off to do the sema grill install, that went well. Also had the illuminated bowties to put on, and that went well, untill I went to test it.. dead. I checked power at the connector, 11.85v (car off). Seemed ok.. but emblem wont illuminate.

Im not missing something stupid, right? This should just work when you plug them in and turn the side markers on..?!

Ok, so I called my dealer (Mirak Chevrolet) and coincidentally Mark over there had the same issue with a friend's car! They went through three sets of emblems before they realized..... GM messed up the wiring loom. If you follow the directions, and wire it to the passenger side, then the polarity is wrong at the emblem. So, you have to swap the wires:

Pull back the loom and weather wrap. Offset cut the wires to keep the package smaller and prolong wear resistance! Black to gray, gray to black.

Solder and heat shrink

Rewrap and voila!

I didnt have to do that with my emblem. Just plugged it to the passenger drl. Maybe thats an issue only with the ss. Its the first time ive seen anyone post a issue like this when installing the glowtie. Especially having to hack the wires.

Maybe there was a batch of bad wiring looms?! I was surprised no one else had this issue for sure.

I'm thinking it just looks a little brighter in pictures. I just got mine installed the other day and you can't see it at all during the day. At night it's definitely dimmer than the headlights, but it still looks great.
