First the rear end and now the torque converter

My car is going into the dealer on Jan 2nd for the dreaded A8 issue. I have the shudder and shaking on sight throttle inputs when cruising at 45mph or higher. It is extremely annoying. I hope my dealer will just fix it right the first time. I don't want to deal with this going back and forth to the dealer garbage on a brand new 2017 with 1500 miles. Not to mention I have a clicking in the front left wheel and a dead HMI module which I've been waiting on a new one for a month now. I have to say out of all the new cars I've ever purchased this is by far the WORST experience ever. I don't think I will ever buy another brand new GM car after this experience.

Yesterday in got into my wife's Camaro, 2SS A8, and drove to the dealership where we bought the car on another matter. While driving to the dealership at speeds around 60 mph I felt the car shudder like I was going over rumble strips in the road but there where no rumble strips on the roadway. The shudder would come in for about 5 or 6 seconds and then go away and come back after about 5 or 6 seconds. I thought that the car was caught going in and out of V8/V4 mode. Tomorrow I will take the car out on a roadway that I know is smooth as silk and determine if it still shudders.

Well I dropped it off again at the Chevy dealer. They decided it was the torque converter and are replacing it. I thought I told them that 2 weeks ago! LOL. They had just gotten a Corvette in that was doing the same thing. Hopefully I get it back today and I'll let you guys know if that fixed the vibration issue.

I am also getting my torque converter replaced today for the shudder issue. I was the first reply to your post on the 11th. Coincidence we both get torque converters on the same day. Good Luck on yours.

Thanks. They finished car right at quitting time. They say it is a 10 hour job. They didn't get a chance to drive the car. Will be picking my car up tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed too!

I have an appointment to drop the car off Monday at the dealer. I can easily recreate the issue so I'm going to ask a tech to ride with me and see where this goes.

So mine has been doing this for about 2 months now. I brought it to my dealer and they told me "it was the nature of the beast and happens a lot on their V8s" They told me there was absolutely nothing they can do. I plan on bringing it in again in the next week or so since the vibration has gotten worse.

I was going to do this as well as they said they could barely feel it (although I told them it was a highway issue 55mph+, yet somehow they drove the car 15 miles and got an average of 8.5 mpg, aka flooring it and treating my car like shit. They should easily get 25+ mpg driving at highway speeds to test for this).

Well, I just picked it up. They replaced torque converter, changed transmission filter, and flushed it. Drives like it should now, no more shudder at all! Even shifts easier through the gears.

OH and there was also a sleeve missing from a transmission pipe that they found.
