Borla S vs Atak ?

Is the consensus that S is meaner and lower growl ? Vs Atak more high pitched ? Also adding xpipe seems to require other additions ? Do you want to avoid the 2nd cat delete ?if it's for legal street . I got two different answers from dealers I wanted borla S or atak and xpipe for 2017 1le seems more complicated vs c7

To make it a little simpler S-type has a more classic muscle sound, Atak has a more exotic sound. I myself have the Atak on my mustang, and it the best exhaust system I have ever bought. It will also be going on my Camaro as soon as I get it.

I agree.......I went with the S-Type myself, as I liked the "growl" it gives. Atak is louder. Here is a pretty good video giving you the different sounds....

S is deeper, ATAK more growl and is louder- would not call it exotic at all though, it's definitely muscle. Corsa would be more exotic of all the current options. I listened to both in person, have the ATAK on mine

I have the S-Type and secondary cat delete X pipe. Sound is perfect. However, I wouldn't mind if it were louder at part throttle. But it SCREAMS in trackmode at full throttle.

Of got Atak ? On the video the Atak seems better than S I def love it loud all the time

A little more volume and extra pops in the exhaust. Of course it affects smog emission but we don't have inspections here in FL and I think one pair of cats is good enough. I don't wish I would have gotten the Atak. I think its plenty loud 95% of the time. I just miss the pure amazing sound of my 2011 Z06 with long tubes and B&B exhaust. So so mean and loud. I don't think the Atak would even touch the Z06 in loudness so I am happy. I gave up the craziness of the race car and got into a touring car(Camaro) so its fine.

I had Borla S type on both of my mustangs. It was plenty loud enough. The Atak IMO is louder for sure but also IMO a little more "raw" sounding. I think the S type is one of the best sounding exhausts on the market. Perfect balance between tone and loudness

I didnt like the Corsair sound, I found that the Borla sounded the best to me plus has NPP

To me the Atak just sounds louder, I went with the S-Type and the 60610 mid-pipe & x-pipe, this set up has the AFM valves and goes all the way up to the secondary cats without deleting them so I don't have to worry about emissions.

Here's some sound clips of mine, also have some more on my IG without background music (@gdgraph).

I think you'll be happy with either option. I am considering trading my S-type axle-back with someone who has the Atak, but I may do headers one day so it won't really matter because it will be loud no matter what, but for now I think it sounds great and with anything Borla there's no drone to worry about.

I think I'm gonna go with the AFM xpipe and ATAK, that does sound great, !! little louder would be my choice
